Shutters on the Beach Takes the Stress Out of the Holidays With All About Me Spa Package

There is quite possibly nothing more stressful than last-minute Christmas shopping. But if it wasn't for the last minute, who would ever get anything done? This year, forget the traffic, the noise, the lack of parking, and the overwhelming rigors of holiday shopping. Instead, Shutters on the Beach offers a one-of-a-kind spa and shopping package that can calm even the most stressed Santa.

While enjoying the 'All About Me' day spa package, guests can take advantage of the hotel car service, available to take guests to some of the most premiere shopping areas in Los Angeles, including Montana Ave, Abbot Kinney, Westfield Shopping Center, and Rodeo Drive. In between shopping runs, the 50-minute facial and a 50-minute massage included in the package await guests at Shutters' ONE Spa, which           features the aesthetic treatments of Ole Henriksen.

In both the spa and the guest rooms, the touch of Michael S. Smith is apparent. Known for his inventive approach to mixing old-world antiques and comforting textiles in contemporary settings, interior designer Michael S. Smith was commissioned in 2005 to re-invent the Shutters' guest rooms and suites. Smith approached the Shutters on the Beach project, his first commercial property, with the same attention to detail as he would a private residence. After studying interior architecture at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, he attended a decorative arts program at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Smith has designed homes in both the United States and Europe, and his distinguished client list includes Cindy Crawford and Randy Gerber, Wendi and Rupert Murdoch, Gigi and Brian Grazer, Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg.

Each room and suite was updated with an in-room reading library, decorative objects with a worldly, residential feel, and fine textiles and furnishings. Semi-gloss white walls, four-poster beds, comfortable lounge chairs, walnut desks and nightstands, and custom made white linens add to the hotel's residential charm.

'My goal was to make Shutters on the Beach feel more residential and more comfortable yet even more luxurious than before,' says Smith, a Newport Beach, Calif. native. 'I wanted to keep the basis of the original design philosophy, to continue to please the loyal Shutters guests, but also add elements that would appeal to a new upscale clientele yearning for the absolute best in California life and style.' His concepts seemed to have worked as he transformed Shutters' into one of the most unassuming luxury hotels on the Pacific coastline.

Shutters on the Beach continues to take luxury to the next level with innovative ways to make guests stay as relaxed as possible. Whether shopping poolside or being chauffeured to the posh shopping spots on the Westside, Shutters is doing its part to make this holiday season the most inspiring and peaceful one ever.

The 'All About Me' spa package at Shutters' on the beach includes a night's accommodations, a 50-minute massage, a 50-minute facial, car service, and parking for $650.
