During the evening of November 3rd, the Winnetka Community House was filled with a wide range of fabulous art works, beautiful people and great food.  Buyers and sellers seemed to be in a very happy mood as they conversed at the Antiques+Modernism Winnetka show.

So much to see

Included in the attendees were interior designers, treasure hunters, and collectors, convening on Chicago’s North Shore for this show that runs November 4-6 at the historic Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka, Illinois for this annual show.

The Winnetka Community House Board

Proudly presented by the Woman’s Board of the Winnetka Community House, the 2016 A+M Show showcases three renowned speakers who are among the most influential women in the world of interior design:

Iconic designer Alexa Hampton, style maker and entrepreneur India Hicks, and Chicago luminary Michael Del Piero

Alexa Hampton presented on Friday, November 4 during a breakfast.

Alexa brought her book, Decorating in Detail, to life by taking a closer look at selecting details for elegant, classic homes.

Her lecture featured living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, and kitchens, with a focus on textures, fabric and furniture.

India Hicks presentation incorporates a luncheon on Saturday, November 5

Author of Island Style, India Hicks will give event attendees a look into the book’s subtle palette of island life, the family tradition of tablescaping, the warm tumble of a family kitchen, the lazy pleasure of porches: the dram of entertaining; the more is more ’style of living with collections; the importance of shoe-string decorating and creative repurposing; and leaving room for spaces of sanctuary.

Michael Del Piero’s presentation titled “Traveled + Textural” Unusual Art and Objects for Modern Spaces, will take place during a brunch on Sunday, November 6th

An extensive international traveler, Chicago interior designer Michael Del Piero brings an expert perspective to the process of purchasing, collecting, and displaying original art and one-of -a-kind antiques. In this presentation, she shares her in sights for acquiring art and objects both domestically and abroad.

Antiques + Modernism

Remarkably, more than 40 respected dealers from across the country are selling antiques including American, European, and Asian, as well as modern pieces including the Mid-Century Modern, Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco design movements. The thoughtful selection of dealers ensures that items of the highest quality are sold at the Show. From classic to modern, the A+M Show is renown for exquisite home furnishings and accessories, artwork, clothing, and jewelry exclusively available for purchase from dealers who are nationally recognized specialists.  “I’m honored to be this year’s Show Chair and host an event that is met with great anticipation by shoppers and dealers alike”, says Kate Kligora. “Unique one-of-a-kind home décor, vintage jewelry and clothing, and artwork are sure to satisfy a range of tastes and budgets. We are thrilled to present an exciting weekend with our inspiring and influential celebrity speakers.”
