Handwoven Guatemalan Huarache Sandal

Handwoven Guatemalan Huarache Sandal

All Eight Styles

Description: For every pair purchased, we donate to provide clean drinking water to children and their communities. Every pair is handmade by artisans in Guatemala who belong to a cooperative comprised of over 800 women. Women, according to the U.N., invest 90 cents on every dollar back into communities. Investing in women and investing in clean drinking water for communities is investing in the future. The leather is all natural, the fabric hand dyed (AZO free) and made on a traditional foot loom by Guatemalan artisans. The rubber sole is typically made of recycled material. The sandals are hand woven and are assembled by hand in the mountains surrounding Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. Proceeds benefit non-profits: Asociacion Puente (Guatemala) and Charity: Water (International). The sandals have been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, People Style Watch and are available at select Anthropologie stores, among other retailers. Supermodel Bar Rafaeli and Actress Jamie Chung love them and have instagrammed them on their travels. Available now at ix-style.com
