Second Nature Colon Hydrotherapy Centre Review - The Detox goes Deeper!



My visit to the SECOND NATURE COLON HYDROTHERAPY CENTRE   was an experience I quite enjoyed. In fact, it was one that I continued to look forward to! I’m aware that this sounds contrary to the general concern and embarrassment around the procedure of the colonic. But I came to find that the entire process is both gentle and your modesty remains entirely intact.

So rest assured that having a colonic is not to be feared.

I met Peter Theseira the owner of SECOND NATURE COLON HYDROTHERAPY CENTRE  on a visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I was immediately put at ease by his practical, matter of fact nature, along with the clear-cut description he offered of the process.

His calm demeanour is certainly a comfort to a newbie to the experience. I was certainly grateful for his relaxed presence as it lent a great ease of mind.

Peter is a certified Colon Hydrotherapist as well as a member of The Malaysia Society for Complementary Medicine and the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy.



Says Peter, " Basically most of our problems are due to tissue toxicity and the source of our tissue toxicity for most part is from the large intestine; the colon. We’re ingesting food daily, and undigested foods remain clogged in the colon. That’s basically waste. We should be getting rid of this waste as often as we eat.

If we’re eating 3 times a day, we should be moving our bowels 3 times a day. But most of us do not of the modern diet with it’s refined, processed foods along with additives and drugs. And we’re not eating the proper combination of food for one thing.

So we’re not moving wastes out of the body fast enough. In fact these toxins are getting absorbed in our body and our immune system. Our liver is not able to filter out the entirety of these toxins. There are too many toxins entering our body and that is getting absorbed into our body through the large intestine."

All this waste is in our body. It could have been festering for years. It’s just not getting out.

 A dirty colon also leads to dehydration. Most of the water is being absorbed in the body through the large intestine. And when the colon is filled with wastes, toxins along with hydration, travel into the body. When your colon is cleaner, then the water is absorbed into the body is much cleaner.



If  you're at a loss as to what colon cleansing even is, let me start with a description of the colon itself.

Most people do not realize that their colon (aka large intestine/bowel) is FIVE to SIX Feet long and plays a major role in the outlook of our overall health.  The prolonged storage of waste could result in toxic seepage through the colon wall and into our bloodstream (aka autointoxication). The colon has been referred to as the sewer system of the body.  It is the place where we store the waste material that most of us would rather not think about. But consider this. Every tissue in the body is fed by the bloodstream.

When your colon is clogged resulting in a sluggish bloodstream, then a vicious cycle occurs allowing free reign for disease proliferation and the overtaxing of other eliminative organs.


Maintaining a clean colon is not simply a luxury, it’s a necessity!


Just like maintaining the cleanliness of one’s home or car for the sake of optimal functionality, the body temple requires regular cleaning as well.

Peter led me through the process where I was largely left on my own. His technology is such that the patient simply lays back and allows the machine to filter in clean, warm water as toxic wastes are cleanly dispelled. Being that Peter’s practise is in an Asian country that exhibits a modest culture, he tends to allow clients to remain by themselves, encouraging them to lightly massage their bellies during the procedure. [In Western countries, the practitioner usually massages the client’s stomach. ]



Upon Peter’s encouragement, I made a point during the next few weeks to eat more salads, eat more fruits and drink plentiful smoothies as well as coconut water. I cut out heavy foods as well, because this greatly impacts the success of the colonic. If you’re a serious gourmand, consuming rich foods and heavy complex carbohydrates, I’d recommend giving your body a break during the time of your colonic series. Let this be a vacation for your body to detox and renew itself.

As I lay in the privacy of my room, and I felt the warm waters ever so gently performing their duty, I realized that all my fears around the procedure were simply self-induced, unfounded fears. My colon would fill with warm water, which did feel quite “ filling”, but above all, I had control over it all. The option to have a gentle experience or to choose a more intense one simply lay on decided how much water I would allow myself to hold.

This was such a simple procedure. And before you know it, it was over! Oh I felt so light and tingly clean after it all.

Being as this was my first series of colonics, I was pleased with how it went. Every few days I would hop in a taxi cab and return to Peter’s clinic for my next colonic. By the second visit it was already a pro at it! And I was so enjoying the lightness that came after.

And with my 3rd and 4th visit, the “clean” feeling amplified. The sense of lightness and feeling of refreshment that comes after a series of colonics can’t be beat. If you can imagine a peppermint bath nourishing you from within and you might get a sense of what I was feeling. I was already looking back to returning for the next round! Once you get clean, you only want to get cleaner!

You see a colonic is usually done in a series or along with a change in diet. This is because the average human colon has gone through years of an intake of processed food and it needs much more than one colon cleanse to thoroughly purge and detox. The colonic is simply a supplement to an improved diet and lifestyle. It accelerates the body’s ability to cleanse and repair itself, but in my perspective, I believe it really should be accompanied by wiser lifestyle habits.



Colonic Health Benefits

A healthy, strong functioning colon is essential to maintaining good health. Your colon, together with the kidneys, lungs and skin are responsible for eliminating waste from the body. But over time, your colon may lose its ability to properly eliminate all waste from the large intestine especially in light of today's toxic lifestyles which expose our bodies to processed diets, prescription drugs, pesticides, chemicals and stress.

If this happens, the colon is saturated with harmful toxins, through a process known as 'autointoxication' toxic substances are transported into the bloodstream where the lymphatic and circulatory systems, as well as the lungs, liver and kidneys, become overburdened, thus inviting serious health risks.

Unusual bodily symptoms are a warning system. Popping a pill or numbing pain to ease symptoms does not address the root cause of the symptom and will only result in recurring effects. This is why so many are plagued with discomfort or disease after years of a pill-popping and medicating mentality.

The colon is the sewer system of our body.  Each day, our bodies filter harmful toxins, undigestible food additives, stress responses, air pollution, chemical pollution and more. Consider that the colon is a muscle. This muscle is lined with a mucosal membrane that has a direct connection to the rest of your body. It’s imperative to keep this area clean so that it functions at an optimal level.

Colon health experts, such as Bernard Jensen, agree that it is ideal to have at least 2 or 3 bowel movements every day.

Constipation is a state in which bowel evacuations are infrequent and difficult, or where the large intestine becomes lined with impacted, hardened feces. This undigested food and waste may remain lodged in the large intestine for days, weeks, or even months to putrefy and generate toxic substances within the body.

Colon hydrotherapy is a means of ridding the body of these potentially harmful substances that the colon has not be able to discharge by natural peristalsis.

I must highlight that is not a cure for any disease or ailment. However it may prove to be an important adjunctive therapy to restore one’s health and vitality.



The History Colon Therapy

Tissue and body cleansing through colon lavage (irrigation or washing out of an organ) has been recognized and practiced for more than three thousand years. As early as 1500 B.C., the 'Ebers Papyrus', an ancient Egyptian medical document, described the many benefits of colon cleansing.  In ancient times, the practice of cleansing the colon was administered in a river by using a hollow reed to induce water flow into the rectum.

Centuries later, the benefits of colon lavage continued to surmount. Colon irrigation was commonly used among European populations to assist with maintenance and promotion of overall health. Enemas were frequently used for abatement of fever, anxiety and illness.

In the early 1900's, improvements in colon hydrotherapy devices allowed for a more complete cleansing of the large intestine.  Unfortunately, advanced colon irrigation was, at times, administered by the unskilled and poorly trained. This proved to be detrimental for the support of the general population and medical profession.  Despite it being challenged in the early 1900's, the value of colon hydrotherapy continued to be recognized by several medical doctors. Most noteworthy were James A. Wiltsie M.D., Joseph Waddington M.D., and John H. Kellogg M.D.

In the early 1900's Dr. John H. Kellogg M.D. used forms of colon therapy on several thousand of his patients.  In a 1917 edition of the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) Dr. Kellog reported that in over forty thousand gastrointestinal disease cases, he had used surgery in only twenty cases.  The rest were helped as a result of cleansing the bowels, diet and exercise.

Dr. Waddington stated , in his work "Scientific Intestinal Irrigation and Adjuvant Therapy", the following: "Abnormal functioning of the intestinal canal is the precursor of much ill-health, especially of chronic disease. Restoration of physiological intestinal elimination is often the important preliminary to eventual restoration of health in general".

Dr. Wiltsie offers, "our knowledge of the normal and abnormal physiology of the colon and its pathology and management has not kept pace with that of many organ systems of the body.  As long as we continue to assume the colon will take care of itself, it's just that long that we will remain in complete ignorance of perhaps the most important source of ill health in the whole body".

Since then, colon hydrotherapy equipment and methods of practice have improved considerably. Thankfully, the world has rediscovered this natural, safe and convenient means to cleanse the colon and promote health, beauty and wellness.





Peter Theseira, “ A colonic is one of the fastest ways to detoxify the body.

 We use purified water, so it just softens the waste. The large colon is now naturally compelled to get rid of it. Once wastes are loosened, the bowels start cramping and the body releases it. Generally this doesn’t happen in the first session, you need a few sessions to see this. From my experience it starts coming out in the 3rd and 4th session.


This is why I recommend a series of 5 or 6 sessions consecutively, particularly for first timers, for people who have never done it before. Following this, you can come in for maintenance several times a year, the frequency depends on your lifestyle again.



I personally do a colonic every month and I have not seen a doctor for almost 7 or 8 years. I do see the doctor for my annual blood test, but other than that I don’t get sick.


I got into this line because of my own problems. I had some very minor problems, including persistent dandruff as well as eczema on my face and back. And it was there for years. Besides that I had gout and I was badly constipated. My toilet was limited to visits once a week and I also had hemorrhoids. In fact I went for hemorrhoid surgery but it grew back after a few years. These were some of my problems, and they all cleared up after I discovered colonics.


I first discovered the importance of the health of the colon when I read a book from a friend. It described all the illnesses I was experiencing. I researched colonics for 2 years and then was finally ready to try it out.


I found that there were people practicing it in clinics and there were even schools teaching you how to do this. So I thought why don’t I learn how to do this because I’m sure there are other people with the problems that I have.


So I went to Hawaii and learned about colonics, and of course while learning we were experiencing.  And on my 4th session I remember, the stuff that was coming out of me, I thought my guts were spilling out. I was alone performing a colonic by myself and out came volumes of junk spilling out. I was feeling very scared because it just kept pouring out. There were such big lumps that were pouring out. Blackness came out of me. I really thought my bowels were spilling out. But it was fantastic. After that I felt very relieved, and I was thoroughly convinced from that point on.


Upon returning I bought a machine and continued my cleansing. After about 4 or 5 months I could see my skin clearing up. The eczema, the itchiness, it just went away. With absolutely no medication all my health conditions went away. I didn’t have that problem anymore.



I think a lot of people will benefit from this, without medication. Most people have anxieties and embarrassment about experiencing a colonic. On top of that they’re concerned that we are not medical doctors. Colonic hydrotherapy is regarded alternative medicine and people tend to assume that this is not safe.But a hundred years ago doctors were doing colonics in hospitals.


In Russia I believe it may still be a general practise. I have heard that a colonic is one of the first things offered when you get admitted to a Russian hospital. For example when a woman is admitted for childbirth, they clean her bowels prior to childbirth to aid the process. When the colon is clear, it’s in a more optimal condition and the body will respond much more favourably to any form of medical treatment.


The first thing you do in order to improve your health is to think of cleaning the body.


When people think of improving their health, they think of improving their diet, eating quality food, taking a lot of organic foods, and supplements. But they forget about removing the wastes that are already there. Clean out the body first before filling it with more. Then the body is more able to absorb nutrients and improve its health. So this should be the first thing. CLEAN your body. And then you supplement and improve on your diet, as well as exercising regularly.”
