Brugal 1888 Rum
Description: When most people look at a glass of aged rum, certain expectations come straight to the fore – sweetness, caramel and “after-dinner drink.” Brugal 1888 shatters those expectations and is often described more in the terms people use for whisk(e)y than for rum: smooth, rich, full-bodied and far from sweet. You could say it’s the rum for whisk(e)y lovers. What especially sets this liquid apart – in addition to its unmistakable hallmarks of the Brugal dry house style – is its unique select-cask and truly double-wood aging process. The blend of rums is first aged for six to eight years in ex-Bourbon American Oak casks, followed by a second aging for two to four years in Oloroso Sherry Oak casks from Jerez, Spain…. the same casks that were originally produced for – but never held – The Macallan Scotch Whisky.
