This book isn't just for vegans and vegetarians, however. There's something for everyone here. With kids in mind, Costello created the delicious "Euphoria Nuggets", made with sunflower seeds, almonds, dates, cacao powder, and dark blue agave nectar, and "Chocolaty Rice Krispy Thingies" which features grain-sweetened chocolate chips, brown rice crispy cereal, and cashew butter. The "Black Bean Brownie Bites" are deliciouly stunning. The secret to this sweet delight is a quick and easy-to-make date paste - soaking some pitted dates in hot water and then blending in a food processor you've created what is the heart of this masterpiece. Who knew that dates and black beans were such a heavenly match?!
