It claims to be one of the TOUGHEST events on the Planet!
TOUGH MUDDER 2013 put thousands of daring people to more than just a test!
This year’s event was held this past Saturday July 13 and Sunday July 14 at Northstar Lake Tahoe, California. Putting participants through a difficult 10-11 mile trail, with nearly 25-courses designed to make you more than just a competitor.
The website says the obstacles are designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie. This year’s race featured new obstacles and a rocky trail at nearly 9,000 feet of elevation.
This course is no average mud run or stroll through your favorite hiking trail. Nearly 1 million participants worldwide have joined forces throughout the years to conquer the hardcore course.
The event teams up to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project raising more than 5 Million Dollars to date.
“Are You Tough Enough?” –Tough Mudder
The event encourages participants to form teams, making everyone work together to get through the challenges not just physically but mentally.
A group of 14 young adults made up of Cal State Northridge students and recent college grads created the perfect formula to conquer the adrenaline pumped race.
They went by the name Team Bring It…and they definitely brought it. The 10 guys and 4 girls crossed the finish line together, bolting straight through the 10,000-watt electric eel obstacle.
Pretty impressive, the event says only 78% of those who sign up actually finish the race.
When asked what they did to prepare themselves?
“We definitely hydrated and tried to drink a lot of water leading up to the race, Crossfit played an important roll and trail running really helped us get through the up-hill portions of the race”- Team Bring It.
What was the most difficult part of the race?
“The rocky terrain and high elevation made everything more difficult, but that ice bath was definitely a kicker.”- Team Bring It.
So, would you do it again?
“ Yes! As soon as it was over, we knew we would do it again!”- Team Bring It.
Some of the team members are already signed up for the next one!
