TheFitExpo - Celebrating 10 Years of the Ultimate Fitness Experience in Los Angeles

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the West Coast’s largest and best known fitness event, the Bodybuilding.com TheFitExpo Los Angeles presented by Body Fortress and Subway Restaurants. This fitness experience returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center on January 19th and 20th. To help kick off 2013 the right way, TheFitExpo and Splash Magazines Worldwide are giving away ten pairs of tickets to attend TheFitExpo.


Now in its 10th year, this event will bring together over 35,000 fitness enthusiasts and fans from Southern California and around the  world. Attendees will come face-to-face with top-tier fitness celebrities, executives and industry veterans on a dynamic, fast-paced exhibition floor.  Over 300 companies will be on hand to display, offer show discounts and give away complimentary samples.

TheFitExpo is also a great place to find products and supplements that you might have never heard of but likely will in the near future. This year Adam Halbridge will be bring his Work In Motion creation to TheFitExpo for attendees to try out. Work In Motion was created to allow you get a workout in at work. A one time attachment to the back of your chair and then you add on resistance bands and you have yourself a great and quick workout at your desk. If you need to get a quick shoulder or bicep workout in that you might have missed Work In Motion is perfect and instead of reaching for that coffee or energy drink use your Work In Motion to get the blood flowing and invigorate yourself naturally.

“It was really born out of necessity, I was trying to solve the problems of working out at lunch,” Adam said. “The FitExpo will give us great exposure and with people getting to try the it will give us a lot of feedback.”


Inaugural events on the exhibit floor this year will include:
TheFitExpo Jump Rope Competition - Hosted by Palpitating Panthers,   this hot new competition will bring together a highly-trained group of   jumpers who will compete and perform using intricate footwork,   synchronization, speed, and power moves in individual rope, pairs, double Dutch, Chinese wheel and group routines. Youth CrossFit


Adult CrossFit Challenge “Battle of the Boxes” – The event will have individual (Saturday) and team competitions (Sunday), where competitors can challenge themselves and see which “Box” will win. (Register in advance online).


California Armwrestling Championship – National Armwrestling Promotions (NAP) will bring their first event of the year to TheFitExpo that will feature professional and amateur classes competing for cash and awards.


Networking Opportunities Within (N.O.W.) is a networking job fair for those seeking new contacts and opportunities in the fitness field as well as a recruitment tool for companies who are looking for new talent.  Seminars will be offered by leading fitness professionals   will provide secrets for fitness career success.


Along with these new events, Expo attendees will also cheer on competitors participating in returning contests including The Gracie US Nationals, IRON MAN Magazine Naturally Bodybuilding, Physique,   Figure & Bikini Championships presented by Optimum Nutrition, The   Gracie US Nationals, MET-Rx Odd Haugen Strength Classic, American Record Makers Olympic Weightlifting Competition, The USPLA American   Cup Powerlifting Championships, MET-Rx Vise Grip Viking Challenge and Bodybuilding.com's BodySpace™ Spokesmodel Search.


A heavy Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) presence will certainly be felt with Sherdog and MMA Worldwide hosting several top athletes, pro- training sessions, ring girl contests and live remotes as well as many vendors with the latest gear on the exhibit floor.  Attendees can meet MMA legend, Bas Rutten.  UFC referee Herb Dean will host the MMA programming.
 
New to TheFitExpo this year will be SoCal's Best  4 Ca$h! that will offer prize money and bragging rights to the most in shape attendees at the Expo. The guys can show off the best abs or biceps and the girls can compete for the best legs or abs. Also, attendees can test their muscles at the MAXREPS 4 CASH    ATTENDEE CONTESTS. Open to all male attendees, these four contests -- pull ups, push ups, bench press and curl a 65 lb. barbell the most times – boast a total purse of $2,000 cash.


Fitness greats slated to appear include: Phil Heath (2 X and current   Mr. Olympia Champion); Jay Cutler (4x Mr. Olympia Champion); Sarah Robles “Strongest Woman in America” (Olympian and Top Ranked US   Weightlifter); Renato Laranja (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and 27 X World Champion); Chip and Kim McAllister (The Amazing Race Winners)


The Healthy Eating & Living Pavilion will feature a variety of seminars with leading experts discussing specific dietary programs to alleviate childhood obesity, coronary heart disease, diabetes and   more.  Live cooking presentations will serve up tips on how to shop for and cook healthy, quick and easy meals.
Come dressed to work out as the Evolution Fitness Conference offers   free express workouts, demos and fitness challenges daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Evolution Fitness Stage.  The area’s   top fitness professionals will offer sample sessions in Zumba,   R.I.P.P.E.D, PILOXING, YogaFit, XPert Pole, Pound, BUTI Fitness,   FlexiSports, Pphunk and more.  Complete classes and workshops will   also be offered throughout the weekend upstairs for both the fitness enthusiasts and the pros (Separate fee to participate).


For the younger members of the family, The Gauntlet CrossFit Kids Teen Competition is strength and conditioning specifically contest designed for teenagers.   The goal is to help teens develop a lifelong love of fitness by engaging in workouts that deliver results and prepare them to be well-rounded athletes.  (Register in advance online)


TheFitExpo adult admission tickets are $20 per day or $30 for the full weekend.  Children 12 years and under are $10 per day and children under 6 are free.


Show hours are Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
