TheFitExpo Anaheim 2016 - The Ultimate Weekend of Fitness Comes to the OC

West Coast Largest Fitness Expo brings the Ultimate Weekend of Fitness, TheFitExpo, to Orange County Saturday and Sunday, August 27th and 28th, at the Anaheim Convention Center. The weekend features 17 free competitions, non-stop cutting edge classes, 200 companies selling the hottest new health and fitness products and as always, tons of free samples.

Splash Magazines Worldwide has teamed up with TheFitExpo to give five lucky readers a pair of weekend passes.

Several new attractions have been added this year including:

Ultimate Ninja Obstacle Course Competition - Hosted by the Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association, this jaw-dropping event offers an opportunity for area athletes to showcase their skills and test their abilities in strength, stamina, endurance, power and speed for cash prizes. Attendees are also encouraged to enter and test out their skills. ($30 to enter includes a t-shirt.)

Anaheim Dodgeball Invitational - Dodgeball isn’t just for gym class anymore! This exciting, fast-paced game is becoming a mainstream sport. The World Dodgeball Society brings some of their best players to share their sport with the masses at the Expo weekend. Co-ed teams can test their skills in running, throwing, and dodging for a $1,000 cash prize and more. (Register online in advance.)

Iron Man Magazine Naturally Bodybuilding, Physique, Figure & Bikini Championships will demonstrate impressive physiques developed without the use of performance enhancing drugs. This event takes place on Saturday, with judging at 10:00 a.m. and the finals at 4:00 p.m.

Slacklining – Trickline Pros will amaze you with their slacklining skills as they balance, flip and spin along a narrow, flexible piece of webbing that is low to the ground and anchored between two points. Originating from the climbing world, slacklining has evolved into a cross trainer, backyard activity and extreme sport of its own.

Several fan-favorites competitions set to return include: Gracie Worlds (Jiu Jitsu Tournament), Odd Haugen Strength Classic Southland Strongman Challenge, The Visegrip Viking Armlifting
Challenge presented by Ironmind, California Open MAS Wrestling Championship, and TheFitExpo Anaheim Powerlifting event. The crowd pleasing Battle of the Bar, a freestyle calisthenics tournament, is back and will include a world record-breaking attempt by Australia’s leading fitness authority, Marcus Bondi, who is a Guinness World Record holder and has 10 million YouTube video views. Attendees can get into the action and compete for cash and prizes with the MAXREP’s 4 CA$H, sponsored by GAT, and TheFitExpo’s BEST! competitions.

A powerhouse of fitness greats slated to appear include: fitness guru, martial artist and creator of the TaeBo® Exercise Program, Billy Blanks; celebrity MMA Fighter and UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz; 4X Mr. Universe and Hall of Fame Bodybuilder Sugar Shawn Ray; 6X World Champion Powerlifter CT Fletcher; bodybuilder with 27 million views on YouTube and successful author, actor, philanthropist and motivator Kali Muscle; CPT Health Coach, who has 1.8 million Instagram followers, Massy Arias,; LA based Benjamin Allen, dancer, celebrity choreographer and founder of GROOV3, the feel-good, dance-party workout; and many more.

Attendees can meet the cast of the new docudrama The Perfect Physique, including Jeremy Buendia (2nd and current Men’s Physique Olympia Champion), Dennis James (IFBB Pro/Master Trainer), Tonnell Rodrigue (IFBB Pro), T.J. Hoban (fitness model/actor/producer), and David Kimmerle (cover model and fitness expert). This show reveals what it takes to become a champion and allows viewers to get to know each athlete and to understand his internal struggles and sacrifices.

Bring your healthy cooking skills as the Healthy Living Pavilion Stage introduces the first annual Stark Raving Chef’s Fit Food Fight Challenge, hosted by Chef Patrick Stark. This cooking challenge is open to all attendees and will give finalists a chance to square off against an opponent with a 20-minute mystery basket challenge of healthy ingredients. The audience and guest celebrity judges will judge each contest as the chef with the highest point total takes ALL. Four attendees each day will have the chance to win fabulous prizes. Chef Stark has been featured on ABC’s The Taste Season 2, Cutthroat Kitchen and REWrapped.

Come dressed to work out as Evolution Fitness offers free express workouts and fitness challenges daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Group Exercise Stage. The area’s top pros will offer sessions in POUND, Yoga, R.I.P.P.E.D., Groove3, BRUTEZ, Body Blast Bootcamp, LexTwerkOut, and Celebrity SweatPlus. Everyone who participates will win a prize. Plus, there are lots of innovative programs and products for participants to try out from Powerwave (presented by Power Systems), Body Boss System, GOFLO Trainer, Mobell Muscle and Kettlebell AMPD. On Sunday, from producers Dave Broome (The Biggest Loser) Sylvester Stallone’s hit NBC’s show S.T.R.O.N.G. hosted by Gabriella Reese, the show’s fan favorite Todd Durkin will be sharing his training tips and challenge attendees for cash prizes in the GET STRONG contest.

Attendees will want to dress to impress as Fitness Star Model Search & My Best Self, presented by Fitness Star, holds its first United States event at the Expo. This unique model search will take place on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. on TheFitExpo fitness stage. Categories include lingerie, athletic apparel, bikini, swimwear, evening gown and male muscular.

For the younger attendees at the Expo, The Kid’s Zone, courtesy of The Gracie Worlds, will offer a supervised space for children 12 and under to learn, play and have fun. (Separate fee.)

Adult admission tickets are $25 per day or $40 for the full weekend. Tickets for children 12 years and under are $10 per day and children under 6 are admitted free. Show hours are 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Discount coupons are available at participating Ralphs, GNC, WaBa Grill and participating gyms. Plenty of parking is available.
