Say what?
The idea is based on an area within a country known for cultural grown-breaking. France. Every year Mediterranean jet-setters visit the
French Riviera during the
Cannes Film Festival and enjoy the local beverage chilled with ice.
Piscine = French for Pool
Back at the
W Hotel in
Westwood, the experience is going full steam ahead. For the month-long

Jaime Hayon's art creation
|
Jaime Hayon, a world-renowned Spanish designer known for transcending the borders of art and designs, has been given the task of creating the experience using the brand’s iconic and extravagant red color.
The creation, crafted from
Surylin, a material commonly used to mold luxury goods, is both a striking piece of conceptual art and it morphs into a champagne bar.
What They’re Saying About it
“When it comes to reinventing the champagne experience,
Champagne Piper-Heidsick is on the cutting edge. Our work with
Jaime Hayon and the
Gerber Group helps to infuse the champagne experience with the utmost extravagance, “ said
Piper-Heidsieck’s Brand Director Michelle DeFeo Rowell.

Piper-Heidsieck’s newest concept we’re creating an entirely new way to enjoy champagne.
W Hotel’s Whiskey Blue’s launch will last through August. Following then will be a worldwide promotion. But the word of mouth seems to be buzzing already.

Piper-Heidsick Piscine Champagne glasses
|
A young executive sits at a plush couch near the bar. He sips and smirks “Ya’know, I’ve been to Cannes. This tastes like that experience. I didn’t believe it when they said it. But it has a European feel about it. Good stuff.”
Three ladies giggle as they talk between sips. When interrupted they all laugh more. One says: “Well, it’s different, it has a different taste.” Another chimes in, “Not bad, just different. New.” The first continues, “It may take another glass or two to fully appreciate it.” And with that, both women and their shy friend head for refills.
The beverage is different, but different good. It has an airy quality, rather than the bubbly quality you would normally associate with champagne. But from the smiling faces and the constant refills it seems this new beverage may be yet another winner for the
Piper-Heidsieck, luxury beverage royalty.
