In a world full of dreamers, imagination has always taken the lead when it comes to Vianey Arana. She was born in the lively scenic country of Jalisco, Mexico on March 15, 1990. Although she came here at a very young age her family has maintained their rich Hispanic culture and tradition. Vianey has always been on the hunt for a new adventure. Her parents have always stressed the importance of keeping the Spanish language alive in the family.
Being bilingual has allowed her to share great moments not only with her family here in California but also being able to visit Jalisco and share great stories with her family there, which means the world to her. Whether it was taking on a new project, hiking a rocky mountain or volunteering she always loves a good adrenaline rush. She takes pride in being a Latina and knows how important it is for young Latina women everywhere to empower themselves not only as women but as young, strong beautiful leaders who can create a movement through love and advancement in education in the community.
Traditional values form part of the beauty of the Latin culture. Love, drive and a determination to always “Seguir adelante” combined with an admirable work ethic can easily be defined as strength. Now imagine creating a movement of smart confident women. Vianey shares that no one is perfect, mistakes and failures all make for a stronger comeback. She tries to be the best role model for her two younger sisters. Vianey attended and graduated this past May from Cal State University of Northridge with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. Throughout college she took part internships at various Los Angeles Television stations including ABC7 and MUNDO FOX. Her willingness to share ideas and learn from her adventures helps her take on the role of a journalist. Being able to relate and listen to her community are all important in telling a great story.
At 15 she took her first job as a host and believes that after becoming a waitress, interacting with her customers and constantly meeting people has helped her learn about life. Working her way through college with the amazing support of her parents and family has allowed her to be where she is today. A short time before graduating she was offered a job as an apprentice at the number one news station in Los Angeles ABC7.
She has also done some freelance reporting for various entertainment/news outlets in Los Angeles. As an intern she had the opportunity to host her own segments on health/hair/beauty tips on Viva el 22 MUNDO FOX. You can catch her out in the field reporting or hiking and reading a great book! “Doing what you like is freedom, liking what you do is happiness!” That is one of her favorite quotes and she feels there is plenty of adventure out there; she wants to be the one sharing your stories!
“I think life is beautiful, and although we hit hard times and fear failure you have to keep going! Whether you’re in physical, financial or emotional pain you are strong! Each new day is an opportunity to fight through it and find happiness in the little things in life, enjoy it, take that pain and turn it into your biggest strength!”-Vianey Arana
“I have been blessed and I have a lot to learn, I feel honored to take on this role, and although it can be a little scary I am always learning, and knowledge is tough to beat!”-Vianey Arana.
