Hailing from Mazatlan, Mexico, Sandra Santiago is a driven, multi-faceted, and undeniably talented actress that is now in Los Angeles and rising on the radar. Living her life by the motto "Follow your dreams, follow your heart-because that is what life is all about", has led Santiago on the right road to stardom. Santiago recently sat down to discuss her latest role, admirations, and future projects.
The following has been edited for continuity purposes.
Sargent: Congrats on your latest role alongside Eric Estrada, that's huge!
SS: Thank you! It's been great! The show is like a 'Latin Kardashians' with a twist. I ended up booking the gig because I look similar to Maria Conchita Alonso (a Cuban-born Venezuelan-raised three time Grammy Award–nominated singer/songwriter and actress).
Sargent: Is your character similar to how you view yourself in real life?
SS: Yes, definitely! I play Lara Santos! We are both strong women and always defend and protect our families! I know I can feel the pain that a mother goes through when she is trying to protect her loved ones from a corrupted society. I honestly just try to connect with each of my characters. It's all in the delivery and mindset, so it is very important for me to do that. I am very passionate about entertaining people!
Sargent: And you're working alongside Eric Estrada?! What's that like?
SS: It's amazing! He is such a great guy! We are all so comfortable working with him! So serious but at the same time very funny and noting that I ever expected! I like that he helps the actors be themselves and in a sense we learn by the way he interacts with everyone.
Sargent: And career wise, you've been climbing up on the radar...
SS: Yes, it feels great! My career is starting to boom!
Sargent: When can we expect to see this on television
SS: It's set to release in the Fall!
With an ever so bright career ahead of her, we can not wait to see what's in store for Sandra Santiago!
