My name is Malorie Mackey, and I am a young actress and model new to the Los Angeles area. I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, where I began acting at the age of twelve. From twelve to twenty-two, I trained and participated in the local theatre circuit of Richmond, Virginia. In May 2010, I graduated with a BFA in theatre performance from Theatre VCU.
My modeling career began when I was picked up by the Modelogic/Wilhelmina office in Richmond when I was eighteen. Since then, I have worked with several independent photographers. I am currently represented by RPM Talent here in LA. (http://www.rpmtalent.net/)
Since moving to Los Angeles, I have been seen in several commercials (such as Bank of America and Toyota) and short films (such as “Cloud Boy.”) Most recently, I starred as Leigh in the independent feature film, “The Surfer.” Not to mention, I won the People’s/ Friend’s Choice Award for popular vote on Facebook in Donald Trump’s Miss California USA 2011. It was a touching, memorable experience that I will never forget!
I am currently working as the Main Executive Assistant for Red-Eyed Dragon Productions. (http://redeyedpro.com/) It’s exciting because I get to tackle the business from on camera work to behind the scenes, as well. We are currently launching a RAW Foods cooking show with well-known photographer Dan Peterson. I will be a model/host in the cooking show for an episode or two, so make sure to check it out! Along with that, our web series “Good Job, Thanks” has hit over 30,000 views on YouTube! We are always working on more and more shorts, commercials, and web series!
If you like what you see, feel free to keep in touch and follow my career as it progresses!! I am providing you with my website, twitter, and Facebook fan page!
ACTING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I was inspired to act when I was eight years old. My father took me to see CATS, and I was mesmerized by it. I bought the video, learned the dances, and danced along with the actors on the television. From there, I researched more into Andrew Lloyd Webber, and I fell in love with the stage. That love quickly turned into a passion for film acting. When I studied in Belgrade, that passion deepened as I learned the struggles of the women at the DAH Theatre, who risked their lives every day by performing on the streets, speaking out about their political turmoil. My acting was definitely influenced by these women, along with the training and support from the faculty at Theatre VCU, where I studied in Virginia. I admire the strength that these people have, and I hope to match that one day!
Overall, my goal is to achieve a successful career in acting and modeling. I want people to know who I am. I want to change the world! As far as modeling goes, it is my dream to be a Victoria’s Secret model. As far as acting goes, I want to have my own sitcom, and I want to tackle the big screen!
When I’m not acting and modeling, you can find me painting and sketching! I’ve been painting since I was fourteen. You can see my work here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-Z9XWeAMi0
