Born in Spain, Leni Rico used to be a professional basketball player for 11 years. She first started performing when she was a child in small neighborhood performances. Though she loved to play basketball she realized that her real passion was acting.
Once she made the choice to go into acting she, enrolled in the best acting, modeling and dancing schools in the south of Spain. Leni soon got her first movies, short films, and pilots in Spain. On a trip to Miami she got a spot in a soap opera and the idea of living in USA entered her mind. Soon she moved to LA. "I chose LA because it´s the best place for actors."
Recently Leni was one of the principals "For the Birds" short film that won seven awards and received two other nominations. Leni has a number of new projects in the near future including: the feature film "City Limits" where she will play Myra. She will play the role of Gloria in "Who killed Jimmy Gumdrops," a featured film by Johnny Williams. In the film "Fifty" she will play Juila, a film produced by Cecil Chambers.
"I had the great opportunity of being in a shooting scene with Antonio Banderas and Christian Bale in ¨Knight of Cups¨, which is still in post-production." She has always love classic movies and admires the great actress Meryl Streep.
