SANTA MONICA AUCTIONS is back for its annual art auction and event on Sunday, November 15th. This annual fine art auction, which has been independently owned since 1984, has earned the trust of many consigners and has an incredible array of work available to auction. Many collectors return to each auction poised and ready to buy each year. With each new generation, comes a new crop of young collectors.

This year’s auction features iconic artists such as Andy Warhol, David Wojnarowicz, John Baldessari, Sam Francis, Carlos Almaraz, Jeff Koons, Shepard Fairey, Robert Rauschenberg, John Register, James Rosenquist, Frank Stella, and many others. The John Baldessari suite of six rare prints is expected to bring in avid collectors along with an oil-on-canvas by David Wojnarowicz. Other exceptional works to be featured are by John Lennon, Shirin Neshat, Herb Ritts, and Alex Prager.

Owner Robert Berman remarked that SANTA MONICA AUCTIONS hosts its annual auction around the first week of June, but if enough work comes in it will do a mid year auction such as this one. Incredible works such as the Baldessari suite of prints and works by other exceptional artists such as Sam Francis and Wojnarowicz have prompted an additional auction this year.


"I am interested in finding work which I personally would like to own and hang in my home, but more important, I am looking for work with historical significance which potentially could appreciate in a financial way."

Berman is an established gallerist and has been a successful art dealer for the past forty years. “I wait for good work collectible work with a strong secondary market that has potential of increasing of value. The SANTA MONICA AUCTIONS annual event takes place on Sunday, November 15th  (from 12pm on) at its B-7 gallery at Bergamot Station Arts Center (2525 Michigan Ave., Santa Monica).
