This year,  the Spring Market shows are embodied at Style Fashion Week.  Los Angeles biggest week, of fashion and glamour.   I had a real dilemma as I had several conflicting commitments.  I am writing a biography about the artist Julian Ritter, and had committed to several interviews with his long time model and muse Janette Boyd.  I also had scheduled  some other photoshoots, as well as committed to an art show, which I owed six new paintings to.

So the reality was that I could attend only One of the big LA shows during Style Fashion Week here in Los Angeles.  The one show I knew I could not miss was the opening show at Style Fashion Week, which would  be  Fairies and Sirens  by Sue Wong.  Also, Sue Wong was to receive the Tiffany  Lifetime Achievement Award, to be presented on the runway.

Ah, Spring is just around the corner.       You say, "What ? "

In the fashion world, Spring has Sprung. The designs are finished. Patterns Cut. Fabric purchased and delivered. Sewers madly at work all over the world putting all the pieces together. And the Shows have begun to sell to the myriad of Buyers from Retail Stores  all over the country, and indeed the world. Those Stores  who will buy and carry the lines of individual designers.

We all recognize those Iconic images of the big Couture Shows in Paris and New York. All the Gorgeous Gowns, the Gorgeous Models,  the flashing lights of the Press Photographers. There are maybe five big markets in the USA. New York of course. Los Angeles every year a stronger presence.

Every woman dreams of wearing one of those fabulous dresses. And what man doesn't wish he could buy one of those dresses for his girlfriend, or his wife.  But who of us can afford one of those dresses that cost a year's mortgage. ?  Not I .

Last year the Jazz Babies show by Sue Wong, was a special treat for me personally. I love the old Noir feel, and that show  at the Cicada Club, hit it out of the ballpark.  This year I would be no less enthralled.  My relationship with my wife Sandy, started 10 years ago in a journey experiencing Spiritual growth and learning about the Goddess in every woman.  Sue Wong's show this year, Fairies and Sirens  was a beautiful journey contrasting the magical Fairy and the Seductive Siren, both Goddesses.

In the Sue Wong immutable style the poetry of the Goddesses in juxtaposed in color, in fabric, and in textures.  For the everyday woman who dreams of that Couture dress, there is no better selection available than one of Sue Wong's amazing gowns. At prices from around $ 300.00 to $ 900.00. You can buy them off-the-rack in stores and countries everywhere.   This new collection is seductive with beautiful black laces, flowing satin and chiffon.  Sue's dresses are  bejeweled  with detail and workmanship usually reserved only for Couture lines.

Every woman who wears Sue Wong, goes back again and again.  For this season Every Woman  shall experience her very own  inspiration into the  journey of being her own Goddess.  Fairy, or Siren.

This year's show at The Reef, in downtown Los Angeles was a sold out affair with more than 1,000 people at the show. By invitation only, Rock Star David Navarro presented the Tiffany Lifetime Achievement Award to Sue Wong.  Models Katie Cleary ,  Angelica Kotliar, Brandise Danesewich,  were just a few of the  standouts on the runway, and a special treat that set of all the dresses perfectly were the gorgeous headpieces by Miss G Designsand Kicka Custom Designs.  All the models, designers who provided accessories, as well as team members behind the scenes, are to be applauded for an amazing show. I only wish I could name them all.

Sue Wong's  Shows are always impressive. Her sense of style, of feminism, and sensuality never fails to raise the bar for all the other designers.  And never fails to deliver to women all over the world.

After the  Runway show a few people were invited to Sue's home, affectionately called The Cedars, for a private AfterParty.  For additional pictures from the Runway Show, as well as from the AfterParty, take a look at the photo albums  at Greg Autry Art & Photo, on Facebook.   For another special treat, go to the Sue Wong Website,  where  you will see an amazing Video  of many Shows, and learn more about Sue Wong.
