So what happens when one of the most recognized urban contemporary shoe retailers in the Western Hemisphere decides to throw an anniversary party? It turns into a one hell of a celebration. So heavy, they had to release weight on an eight stop multi-city tour guest hit listing it with names ringing bells to the tune of Lacoste, Nautica, Reebok, Converse, Timberland, PF Flyers, and Adidas. Settling for the grand finale in Hollywood, CA; Shiekh Shoes held out Boulevard3 on April 20, 2012 from 9pm until 2 in the AM, bringing in music mogul DJ Jermaine Dupri rocking classic black and white [Presenter] Adidas kicks and Porsha Coleman in a hot pink and leopard number accompanied by Shiekh Shoes Stillettos that had all eyes on host of BET fame introducing a rostrum runway.
The only thing more stunting than the packed crowd were dancers on stage whipping it up in shredded tights, one piece ‘leotards’ and taffeta back flared mini shorts; all in heels, all killing it on stage. Dancers had go-go changing the beat to the bass level TaLeNt, as one Asian dancer put together combinational moves you could not catch on repeat, a stilt walker bending over backwards only to rise again to the thrashings of the hottest club mix playlists on Sunset heard yet this season - compliments of Sleeper, ArsenalFX, and Steve Prior.
For the final throw off, celebrity and DJ Jermaine Dupri closed out a night turning the bass so loud it had the floor shaking and faux pas’ing a 5.0. The party was a shout out to friends and family with marketing director Dae Bogan and Women’s Footwear Designer/Buyer Heather Johnson. Guests included hundreds of urbanely familiar socialites, with Rick Ross, Natalie Nunn, and The Rej3ctz amongst them.
Props to Supernova PR who managed the smashing salute to bright eyed 21 year old Shiekh with one of the hottest events Aprils in L.A. have seen yet.
