The Vibiana Church in the heart of downtown Los Angeles was transformed into a temple of haute couture when LA Fashion Week rolled out the red carpet for the Go Red for Women Celebrity Event benefitting the American Heart Association.
Vibiana, a former baroque-inspired cathedral with 35,000 square feet of luxurious space, added an air of old Hollywood glamor to the events of Style Fashion Week March 15th-18th.
The Celebrity Go Red Event has been featured in past Fashions Weeks in New York and Miami, its purpose being to unite supporters of art, fashion, and health to bring awareness of how heart disease affects women around the world. "With one out of three women still dying from heart disease, we are committed to fighting this No. 1 killer, which is largely preventable." Go Red for Women (which is part of the American Heart Association's solution to help save women's lives) connects millions of women of all ages and gives them tangible resources to turn personal choices into lifesaving actions.
The evening began with guests strolling in along the vibrant red carpet into an outdoor lounge area designed with modern white decor, large glowing candles and a koi pond.
The DJ spun eclectic tunes while guests enjoyed sipping Leblon's freshly made Caipirinhas made with lime, sugar, or Cachaça – a delicious concoction from Brazil. Pinkberry was handing out varieties of their yogurt made with their signature tang.
Guests were invited to have complimentary manicures and view the live and silent auction items before the show. One of a kind memorabilia included contemporary sculpture and high end jewelry as well as sports and music collectibles. The sensational celebrity runway show was preceded by a live auction featuring a guitar from Bruce Springsteen, a large photograph of Muhammad Ali, a framed Kobe Bryant Laker jersey and an Andy Warhol Marylin Monroe print.
