Genlux / Essensuals London LA Launch and Fashion Show - Hosts George Blodwell & Kiera Smith Entertain At The London

Crossing the threshold of The London on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 to arbitrate Genlux / Essensuals London Launch and Fashion Show held in honor of BritWeek (a stretch in calendar celebrating contributions by British to California) and media unwrapping of bimonthly Spring/Summer Issue of Genlux as well as Essensuals London Los Angeles on Melrose, one marveled at the graceful complexity with which the evening was dancing. A magazine specifically developed for the tastes of Southern Californian fashion trends, Genlux invited friends, guests, and press to enjoy an evening with George Blodwell (British and wearing new Paul Smith), Editor At Large for GEN LUX in corroboration with Essensuals London - Los Angeles CEO Kiera Smith, who took to introduce runway stage in a smattering scooped backless gold sequins mini by Leiluna to the resonance of congratulatory applause.

The former model is now presiding over Essensuals London – Los Angeles; transversely from Fred Segal, boasting a styling team possessing a profusion of awards and recognition with which to individually claim name heraldry. Instead, the enunciative selected are vicariously working with prodigious Mascolo Group, owners of Essensuals London reigning in 49 years of industry heritage.

One head swish at the scene instantly reveled in fashion elite, industry professionals, and contemporary socialites sincerely waiting in earnest anticipation for commencement of show, starring exponentially snowballing line Skingraft. Accoutered as the most fashion forward line in LA; the latest collection from Skingraft rose from pavement trodden ancient roots to circumvent cloaks with cape accentuation. Stylization supports design at Skingraft runway shows with hoodied jackets worn on shoulder, sleeve sided; to heighten Jonny Cota’s Japanese Urban Gothic conceptualization for Fall 2012. Deep, plunging V necklines with braided-rope waist combined in aesthetic with garments of leather sleeve and jersey. Models stalked past with hair work by Essensuals London Los Angeles commanding focalization – one form an adorned hair sculpture reminiscent of a seashell. A leather corset clad “black mermaid” fishtailed onto the runway to finish the show.

Background jams featured the up and coming band, Northern American, who look and smell the part of a swept clean yet grunged out contemporary version of The Killers. Do the band a favor – don’t compare; just listen and fall in love with repeat addictive melodies affixed to lead singer Nate’s scratched smooth vocals.

Afterparty crammed the entire crowd onto elevators with conversation staling itself in “Guess this is no time to get uncomfortable...” to continue to the rooftop of The London for frost covered breathy vernacular of equally air chilled drinks sponsored by Voli Vodka and serenading by lascivious British duo Luxury Kills.

Amongst guests were Amanda Eliasch the fashion editor at large for Genlux Magazine, actress Sofia Milos, and Liberty Ross, who embellishes the cover of Genlux Magazine Spring/Summer 2012 and interiorly highlights her role as the Good Witch and mother of Snow White in Snow White and The Huntsman, directed by also present husband Rubert Sanders.
