Commencing at 11am and riding into the night on the coat tails of an after party that had celebrity housewives bumping designer dresses with fashion elite and celebrity guests on the dance floor, Saturday, June 9th, 2012 was a destination to be held in Orange County, California as over 30 contemporary brands showcased at The Monarch Bay St. Regis Resort for Fashion Destination Group’s first annual event, hosted by Catt Sadler and Stephanie Erb (TRUEBLOOD).
Fashion Destination Group’s mission is not only to bring recognition to the fashionable contributions of Orange County, it is to enlighten audiences with knowledge of the industry as a whole. Retail Roundup, Open for Business, and Get On Board seminars discussed the business of fashion including an announcement from the Trade Commissioner. The informative Industry Panels took place between 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. with prestigious panel speakers like Kelly Gray, former CEO of St. John Knits and Co-Founder of Royal Underground, Frank Kaufman of Moss Adams, John Bernards, former president of WWDMAGIC, Sari Ratsula, President of Seychelles & BC Footwear and former VP of Vans, and Vicki Dallas of Buchalter Nemer.
The Fashion Destination Group was adequately termed an “Extravaganza” with Sprint, Macy's, Marisa Kenson, Wells Fargo, Moss Adams, Genlux magazine and Trina Turk providing financial support; FDG attracted an abundance of notorious and celebrity designer labels including Trina Turk, Royal Underground owned by Kelly Gray and Nikki Sixx, David Meister, and Oday Shakar.
Runway shows at the OC Symposium included collections by Trina Turk, BCBG, David Meister, Marc by Marc Jacobs, St. John, Royal Underground, MK Marisa Kenson, and Engineering By Remy.
Exhibitor Lounge and celebrity Gifting Suite hosted by Connected for attending celebrities and VIP guests included Trina Turk, Sprint, Filtrate Eyewear, Patti V, and many more, displayed their upcoming lines and products at the St. Regis Pacific Lawn for purchase.
