Vlassis Holevas at His Fashion Show

Vlassis Holevas is a fabulous, up and coming, designer who just released his 2006 fashion line in New York.  His first appearance here in the states was a stunning success which garnered brilliant reviews.  Holevas, a native of Greece, has an absolute knowledge of women's figures and he utilizes amazing fabrics to bring out the natural curves and beauty in women.

The 2006 Night of a Hundred Stars was held at the Beverly Regent Hotel in Beverly Hills.  At a thousand dollars a ticket, this was one of three of the most sought after parties of the evening.  I have never been to anything like this in my life! I was scared, nervous and just flat out intimidated, by the throngs of beautiful women and Academy Awards caliber actors.  Nothing makes you more intimidated  than a walk down the red carpet.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Holevas at the Hilton Oscar Suites.  Upstairs, on the seventh floor, was manly for dressing and catering to the celebrities attending and presenting at the 2006 Oscars show.  I came only to see the sites and take notes on who was there as I followed my Publisher, Lawrence Davis, around feeling a touch out of place, I was introduced to Vlassis.  When he entered the room, he invited me to wear one of his dresses.  I was a little apprehensive because I never thought a body like mine could fit well into a dress made for someone that weighs 90 pounds and is 6 2.  After a few tries I found the one that made me feel like a true princess.  I simple classic black full length gown with a low dip in front that showed some cleavage and for accent, a double string of clear gems, for a hint of sparkle.

I weaved in and out of the crowd that night mingling with the stars, but went relatively unnoticed, as the outsider I truly was.  I took comfort in Vlassis classic attire as it made me feel somewhat at ease.  I was even asked if I was a star of some sort, by two different journalists.  A true Cinderella-like chance at seeing inside world of the Oscars.  My night was complete but the cherry on the top was having Mr. Blackwell pull my publisher aside to tell him that I was very beautiful.  That was an incredible honor, coming from the man who tells the world who is the best and worst dressed in Hollywood.

2006 Night of a Hundred Stars

A truly talented designer and an uncommonly kind hearted person, Vlassis Holevas turned this small journalist in to a star for an evening.  He completely grasps the knowledge and understanding of the way fabric can visually transform anyone's natural features into an unbelievable, 'movie star' look.
Vlassis new line just premiered in New York a few short months ago but he has the ability to turn any woman in to Cinderella for a night.
