Fashion Frenzy at Bliss

For fans of fashion, Bliss on La Cienega in Los Angeles was the place to be at nine pm on Saturday, August 28.  The fashion show producer Nathalie Dubois, who, over the last twelve years, has been involved with prestigious names like DKNY, Nike, Von Dutch, Vuitton, and Dior, teamed up with LA Club promoters (led by Andreas Counas), to hold the extravaganza at Bliss.  The fashion show was a preview of the hottest lines for spring and summer 2005.  Some of these designers included Von Dutch, Hale Bob with Hale Bob accessories, ABL couture with Royal Hip accessories, and Da-Nang.  Hair was designed by the Orange County Johnny Q Salon, and make-up by Inbal Bitan. 

It was quite a surprise (a rather pleasant one for the females at the event!) when the creative segment for Von Dutch opened with the entrance of two male models on scooters (provided by Identity Agency).  Another positive for the Von Dutch segment was the fact that Sam Sarpong, host of "The Rub" on SLTV, was included.                 

Some other exciting faces that were seen at Bliss on Saturday night were Patricia De Leon and Kendra Moore ("Cloud 9"), Jonathan Ahdout (co-starring with Keifer Sutherland in "24", and known for his spectacular performance in "House of Sand and Fog"), movie director/producer Emmanuel Itier ("Scarecrow"), and his designer wife Roxanna Bina.  Not to mention some VIPs such as the Hollywood Reporter Director of Promotions, the Chopra Center's Director of Marketing, Deepak Chopra's publicist, and executives from LA studios such as Fox or Disney, talent agencies, and banks.                        


Aside from those listed above, many impressive names were involved in this event. The Chopra Center aided in the creation of gift bags, providing books and perfumes. Izze, newcomer in the hippest and best drinks in Hollywood, prevented thirst by providing their drinks for the backstage. The new cosmetics line, Elf, offered an amazing lip-gloss with mint in it, resulting in a whole roomful of soft and shining mouths.

The event was covered by 944 Magazine, Agenda Magazine, Latin MTV, Hola Magazine, Audrey Magazine, Black Enterprise Magazine, Rap Pages Magazine, and, of course, LA Splash Magazine. 



The show came to a spectacular close with all the models onstage, following two small robots from the robotics company Wow Wee (another product placement by Identity agency).  It was the perfect way to end a fantastic night of creative surprises, great company, and, most of all, hot new fashions!
