Remember that fashion show last year where a model fell through the runway during her catwalk? Well, no one took a tumble at this year’s
Who’s Next What’s Next fashion show but it was still a night to remember.

The show’s headliner designer was
Abi Ferrin, last year’s
“Top Texas Designer” and currently the “go-to-designer” for
Hayden Panettiere,
Alicia Silverstone, and other celebs. The show also featured
Lor-e Phillips' new hat line and fashion from up and coming designers
Journey,
Lime,
Sha Dang and
Silver Star.

Abi Ferrin and her designs
|
Abi Ferrin started off the show with flowing dresses and models adorning fedoras. Blues, browns, golds, and red hues were used as models wore jeans and dresses. A solid red long sleeve dress also shown in black was simple yet sexy. The line highlighted shoulders, as many dresses were halters or fell over one shoulder. Black tops were shown and then the fashion faded into silvers, with models walking away from the crowd in silver jackets.

Bright and fun
|
Journey’s line featured dresses that were easy and fun. Many wore black capris and tops with colourful shawls, and the shawls decorated dresses that were salmon pink, bright sky blue and black, to name a few. The sky blue dress had a lovely blue and purple shawl while the salmon pink dress was dressed up with a black shawl. One model wore the perfect little black dress, a staple in any woman’s closet, and another was dressed in a casual chic green khaki dress.

The stomach was highlighted in
Lime’s line as models wearing tube tops bared their tummies. Models wearing ruched front beige tube bras strutted in flared Capri pants. The pants were colourful, ranging from green, brown and blue to red, black and white. The Capri pants were several materials, and jean was a common one, falling until about the mid thigh and then springing out in busy patterns.

Sexy was brought back in the form of thongs and fishnet stocking by
Silver Star. Celebs walked this runway and showed off casual clothing such as tee’s, zip-ups and jeans. One model sported a Rolling Stones t-shirt with jeans and boots while another wore jeans, a casual tank and a black belt. Models wearing thongs and comfy looking zip-ups pleased the audience.

Zip-ups, thongs and fishnets were alluring

Before
Sha Dang’s line was showcased, two women performed a
circus act hanging from the ceiling. While the
women’s acrobatics were entertaining, they nearly swung into photographers and audience guests during their performance!

The
Sha Dang line featured casual zip-ups that were bejewelled on the sleeves and backs, as well as short dresses and mini skirts. A blue zip-up and skirt was tye dyed and had jewels on the sleeve and back. Models wearing tiki hut-like hats came out in brown, beige, green, red, blue and black. A white and green long sleeve dress was white at the top and then faded into green, and a cowl-neck dress worn in blue that turned into navy near the bottom also came in other colors such as in pink that turned into red at the bottom. Models also showed off jackets with jewells on their backs that went well with jeans.
Jade Cole, former
America’s Next Top Model contestant, ending the show by walking away from the audience in a red bikini top and jeans with her hands raised in the air.

To top the show off, local LA band
Content Life played for the crowd. This band was
homeless just a few short months ago and met on the streets of
Santa Monica. They eventually earned enough money to record their first album and find life off of the streets.
