The Walt Disney Concert Hall hosted The Patina Bride Wedding Event on Sunday, February 25, 2007 for the many people planning their weddings for the not-too distant future.
The well-attended event was hosted by Joachim Splichal's Patina Catering and The Bridal Bar. Other well-known participants included Los Angeles Weddings (Los Angeles Magazine), Classic Party Rentals, Chameleon Chair Collection, Dyal Productions Events, Kirstie Kelly Couture, Red Loft Studios, RedShoe, Marin Dodge, Fantasy Frostings, Dave's Flowers, Fiji Water, Really Great Music, String Project LA, and Martini & Rossi.
For everyone planning a wedding this really was the place to be with everything under one incredible roof, amid a perfect day in downtown Los Angeles. The event was a great place to preview Southern California's elite wedding locations, and a chance to consult with premiere wedding professionals in cake design, cutting edge trends, and decor concepts.
These events always seem to bring out the best in people but this event went above that normal standard as the people were genuinely excited to be here, busy planning their future or helping others plan that event for them. The food provided the Patina Catering was simply wonderful.
Even though they only focused on serving a few items, each and every bite opened up the senses to a new and rewarding taste. Their food and presence at any wedding would be a fantastic addition. Joachim Splichal is the German-born, French-trained chef and founder of the Patina Group, which late last year bought Restaurant Associates/Patina Group to become the Patina Restaurant Group, now operates dozens of restaurants nationwide.
Restaurants in his empire include a Mexican cantina, an Italian pizzeria, a steakhouse and several cafes and fine-dining establishments and that's just in Southern California. Joachim Splichal is credited with cultivating much of L.A.'s new restaurant culture.
A graduate of the renowned Hotel and Management School in Montreux, Switzerland, Joachim launched into a sixteen-year training spree, working his way through Europe's premium kitchens, including Jacques Maximin's Le Chantecler in Nice. Finally satisfied with his solid base, Joachim moved overseas to run L.A.'s Seventh Street Bistro, where his menu was wildly successful with food-loving Californians.
From there, Joachim opened his own doors in 1989. The Bridal Bar is a boutique that supplies a peek at the pre-screened best of the best in the wedding industry. The founders have searched high and low to compile an extensive group of event professionals who display their works based on style, experience, and impeccable reputation in their fields of expertise.
Brides can lounge on a couch, sip complimentary champagne, view videos and DVD reels, enjoy music samples and photographers' images, taste cakes and much more. The Bridal Bar allows the discerning bride-to-be to preview and plan for the perfect event. Their staff is there to assist and encourage every couple to realize that they deserve their dream wedding.
Chameleon Chairs, LLC was formed in January 2005 and concurrently acquired an existing inventory and patent pending for the Chameleon Chair system. The opportunity to provide over 1,500 chairs for the 2005 Academy Awards Governors Ball was the Company's initial foray into the chair rental business.
The Company does business as the "Chameleon Chair Collection" and manufactures and rents its propriety products. Presently, the Company offers an expansive line of chairs and barstools. The Chameleon Chair is a remarkably versatile stacking chair designed to meet the ever-changing demands of the party and special events market. It is ergonomically engineered for comfort and style.
The Chameleon Chair Collection includes metallic and cloth backs as well as seat cushions in a variety of colors, fabrics and patterns. The event made me wish that I was planning my own wedding with my Patina Bride but for now I will have to be content with the single life.
