Naum Fall 2007 Collection

As far as I am concerned, the professional pairing of Julia Jentzsch and Waleed Khairzada was a match made in fashion heaven.

Julia Jentzsch and Waleed Khairzada

It was my pleasure to view the recent Ecco Domani winners' Fall 2007 collection during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. I could certainly say so much about the phenomenal fashion show. If I were to list all the things I enjoyed about the show, the list would go on for an eternity. It was a thirty piece collection where the sturdy and high quality gabardine wool ruled. Although the dominating colors were black and beige, there was a nice touch of red and even shiny silver that graced some of the designs. Take a look at a few of the pieces that stood out in my eyes. I am sure that you will fall as much in love with the collection as I have.

Amber Mitchell

Amber Mitchell was the first in a long line of talented models to show off the sophisticated wears. She wore a black nylon volume parka with a cool red turtle neck to go with it. Amber is obviously tall and thin, but this style can be worn on a variety of body types. In other words, it could hide bodily features that some women may want to disguise. I must confess that I am not a fan of oversized or puffy styles. However, I found myself pleasantly surprised with this creative piece. Never in a million years would I have imagined an oversized coat that actually looked great. With two great designers, I should not be surprised at all.

Danielle Hamm

Next was Danielle Hamm who modeled this gorgeous black wool crepe suit. Its form fitting design would flatter those with curvy figures in addition to thin women. It is designs such as this which shows that Khairzada and Jentzsch had all women in mind when creating great outfits.

Julianna Imai

Juliana Imai arrived on the catwalk wearing this black nylon volume parka, with a red tank top. The techno-stretch pants with a leather insert added a wow effect to this hot number.

Andreea Stancu

Have you ever seen wool that shines? Andreea Stancu modeled silver wool pants that are simply amazing. I have not seen anything like it before. The black sphere T-shirt works well with it. This design is in a class all by itself.

Sveta

Here is a fashionable Naum creation that gets my vote for the coolest on the catwalk. Sveta modeled this black wool gabardine jacket with ecru inserts. The beige wool jersey top was neatly tucked into black gabardine trousers. An outfit like this would work best with a pair of shades and slick black shoes. If you look closely, you will see what appears to be a thin silver belt. Anyone who looks at this piece could see it was well put together.

Hawa

Hawa wore a loose-fitting white Sea Island cotton shirt with wide-legged black wool gabardine trousers. Ok, Naum has made a convert out of me. I am now fascinated with stylish oversized clothing.

Marina

Marina was dressed in a black sphere jacket with a beige wool jersey top and a beautiful crepe skirt. This would be something I would like to have in my closet. It is both unique and edgy.

As you can see, there were some rather statement making hairstyles that floated on the catwalk. That was the work of talented hairstylist Chrystoph Marten. Some hairstyles were teased, some straight, and others a bit spiked. Make-up artist Jun Funahashi elegantly applied cosmetics, provided by MAC, to each model. They did a wonderful job.

What can I say about Naum? It was a fabulous show from two fabulous designers.
