House of Taylor Jewelry will partner with Kathy Ireland Worldwide, the design and marketing firm with over 1 billion dollars in annual retail sales, to bring Fashion and Bridal Collections to market. Announced Tuesday, April 12, 2005 jointly by Dame Elizabeth Taylor and Jack Abramov, President of House of Taylor Jewelry, in Los Angeles, California.

Kathy will lead design direction for her own collections and serve as an Ambassador for House of Taylor Jewelry

Under the terms of the partnership, the Brand offering will be Kathy Ireland exclusively for House of Taylor Jewelry.  "Kathy's design category will serve opening to mid-tier pricing for House of Taylor Jewelry.  The beautiful and diverse collections will range from less than $200 to approximately $2,500 dollars and be based on Kathy's best selling Style Guides®.  We are delighted to have Kathy join us in this incredible venture.  Kathy will lead design direction for her own collections and serve as an Ambassador for House of Taylor Jewelry all under the direction of Dame Elizabeth", said Jack Abramov.

"Elizabeth Taylor is one of the most admired women of all time.  I am humbled beyond words to be in service to her genius.  Dame Elizabeth is an inspiration to people all over the globe for so many reasons.  Her film career is legendary; her philanthropy in the battle against HIV/AIDS is unrivaled.  She is an amazing mother, whose success in the challenging business of fragrance is world class and unequaled.  She is an astounding designer and collector of the world's most dazzling jewelry.  In developing my Brand it has always been important to select extraordinary partners.  In the world of Jewelry no one rivals Elizabeth Taylor. Everyone wants to know...'how did this happen?'  It was very simple, when our company learned about Dame Elizabeth and her new Jewelry venture we wanted to be a part of it.  I wrote her a letter and then took a deep breath, picked up the phone and called her office to ask if this dream might come true.  Amazingly, she said, 'yes!'  Everyone in our company is overjoyed.  This is one of the most exciting creative opportunities in the world," said Kathy.

"Having Kathy and her tremendous success join us in House of Taylor Jewelry completes our design and business circle.  From the very beginning of our partnership with Dame Elizabeth we knew that our House of Taylor Jewelry retail partners would require design and marketing strategies that would be unique and different from the classic pieces that make Elizabeth Taylor jewelry legendary.  For House of Taylor Jewelry to have a good-better-best program, Dame Elizabeth wanted a partner with innovation, creativity and business savvy that would enhance rather than conflict.  Today, we celebrate that partnership.  Kathy's ability to build a billion dollar brand and market particularly to women is something we can all learn from.  Many famous people approached us to join with House of Taylor Jewelry.  Kathy was the only person that we seriously considered and Dame Elizabeth's unconditional approval of Kathy made it a joy to say yes," said Monty Abramov, Vice President and Design Director for House of Taylor Jewelry.

Dame Elizabeth said, "Something wonderful is about to happen"®, is the passion of my Brand.  Today is something wonderful.  Kathy's mission is "...finding solutions for families, especially busy moms®."  We are very different and House of Taylor will meet the needs of our retail partners and their customers. We have an extraordinary offering.  We look forward to a long and dynamic journey together."
Kathy Ireland will serve as keynote speaker at the JCK Jewelry Show, this June in Las Vegas.  Her topic will communicate the power of strategic partnerships and the need for branding at retail.  House of Taylor Jewelry will premiere at Luxury by JCK, continuing on at JCK Las Vegas and JA New York.

About Elizabeth Taylor:

Dame Elizabeth Taylor is the star of more than fifty-five films, among them National Velvet, A Place in the Sun, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Butterfield 8, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and Cleopatra. For nearly two decades, she has been a leader in AIDS activism, including her founding role in the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmfAR), and establishment of The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF). She has also been an extraordinarily successful businesswoman with her bestselling line of fragrances. The recipient of numerous honors and awards, she was made a Dame of the British Empire in the year 2000. In 1987, France bestowed upon her its most prestigious award, the Legion d'Honneur, and in 2001 President Clinton recognized her with the Presidential Citizen's Medal. She has won two Academy Awards for Best Actress, and in 1993 she received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences for her work on behalf of AIDS. She also received the BAFTA Fellowship from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Film Institute. Elizabeth Taylor lives in Bel-Air, California. She has four children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren ... so far.

One of her greatest passions is jewelry, and over the years she has amassed one of the world's foremost collections. By the time she was in her thirties, Elizabeth Taylor had already owned an outstanding set of Burmese rubies and diamonds from Cartier, a fantastic emerald and diamond suite from Bulgari and the 33.19-carat Krupp diamond, a gift from Richard Burton. That ring was later eclipsed by a subsequent gift from Burton, when he bought a staggering 69.42-carat pear shaped diamond. Newly named the Taylor-Burton Diamond, it catapulted Elizabeth Taylor into that rarefied pantheon of great jewelry collectors. The Taylor-Burton Diamond, purchased from Cartier in 1969 for $1,100,000, was originally fashioned from a 240.80-carat rough diamond cut by Harry Winston. For her 40th birthday, Richard Burton presented Elizabeth Taylor with the Taj Mahal Diamond that has a history dating back to 1627. In 1969 Burton purchased the La Peregrina Pearl, which was originally discovered in the Gulf of Panama in the early 1500s, an heirloom passed through Spanish and English royal families.
Elizabeth Taylor is more associated with diamonds and jewelry than any other woman in the world. Her outstanding collection of jewelry was immortalized in her New York Times best selling book, 'My Love Affair with Jewelry'. This book is a fabulous display of unbelievable glamour, assembled over a lifetime, by one of the most extraordinary women in the world.
