Fashion Week Miami Beach celebrated its 10th season with one of the most impressive line-ups in recent years. The state of the art fashion pod was built on the sand at 11th Street and Ocean Drive in Lummus Park in Miami Beach. The venue featured three unique venues with a large court yard for sponsor activations in the center of it all. The event opened on March 26th at the Setai Hotel with a presentation of an official Proclamation of
FUNKSHION: Fashion Week Miami Beach by the newly inducted Mayor of Miami Beach Matti Bower. The Proclamation ceremony was followed by a spectacular showcase by
Jennifer Lopez's high end line
Sweetface.

In the days following opening night,
FUNKSHION: Fashion Week Miami Beach moved locations back to the Setai only once to host world renowned designer
Fisico by
Cristina Ferrari from Milan Italy. The show took place at the Setai Hotel with an amazing runway built directly over the pool.

Other highlights in the tents on Ocean Drive were
Justin Timberlakes clothing line,
William Rast, the debut of
Russell Simmons new
Argyle Culture line, as well as
Puma, Parish, Caroline D' Amore, and
Marithé et François Girbaud. Closing nights show in the tents featured
Heatherette (that chose this year to do only
FUNKSHION: Fashion Week Miami Beach over NY and LA's Fashion Weeks) as well as and the
Jockstarzz Fashion Show Benefiting the
Kevin Everett Foundation, which brought some of the nations biggest
National Football League (NFL) players together to tackle the runway for a one-night-only charity event and fashion show. During this charity show, super producers Cool and Dre mixed it up on the runway as they debuted their clothing line
Dirty Royalty.

As with every season,
Fashion Week Miami Beach supports new and emerging designers with the
Emerging Designers Award. This year,
David Sugarman, CEO of Miami based Management Company
Sugartime Productions and
Shultz hosted the emerging designers event, and along with Fashion Group International, awarded the winner with a cash prize and free representation for one year. The panel of judges were made up of media elite, trade industry VIP's, designers, celebrities and members of Fashion Group International.
FUNKSHION also announced the partnership with
Sugartime Productions and
Lorette Ambrozewicz in creating the most unique competition for emerging designers inspired by the story of
Ms. Ambrozewicz. The goal is to promote the usage of organic materials in Fashion Industry. Emerging designers competed for a cash prize by designing outfits using only organic materials.
