Scarlet red emphasized the feeling of passion and love
|
The
Lightbox at
Smashbox Studios was engulfed with scarlet red lighting as the all-white runway echoed with Spanish romance on March thirteenth.
Farah Angsana’s name boldly shone across the stage, at the debut of her fall 2008 collection, inspired by painter,
Francisco Goya. As the lights dimmed down and the Argentine tango began to echo across the stage, two dancers overtook the runway. Slow, romantic movements brought out a sense of passion and lust for fashion, which was complemented by the awe-inspiring ball gowns to come.

Angsana’s new collection was deeply rooted in “Eternal Love” for her mother, as she explains, “I dedicate this show as an opportunity you gave me in life to let me be who I am. Here I gave you back the love you once taught me how and now let my love shine eternally.” Straight from Paris, the show, entitled
“Goya’s Tango”,
was meant to combine polished passion with elegant evening attire.
As the lustful dancers made their final bows, the real show began with an array of classic black and white cocktail dresses. The Spanish music resounded behind each model’s stride, staying consistent with a passionate, luxurious theme. An all black, strapless tuxedo dress stormed down the runway, accentuating class and panache.

Simplistic elegance could be seen immensely in each and every piece. Despite a black and white base, every dress was endlessly embroidered and accentuated with intense detail and style. Silk and chiffon fabrics glistened as the color palette turned to platinum silver.

Mid-show, deep emeralds and crimson reds cohesively tied together a fervent runway romance. A variety of red gowns were showcased in all different styles, from sexy cocktail dresses to luxurious gown attire. A red and black silk chiffon strapless gown took the audiences' breath away as a long train followed behind the model. The evening dress was adorned with black embroidering and garnished by a flowing drape, sweeping across the ground. Every piece emerged with such grace and beauty, turning the models into modern day love goddesses.

Farah Angsana’s
collection included plush, romantic fabrics, highlighted by pearl, sequined, and crystal embellishments for an added effect. After a splash of color, the designs turned back into a classic black forum of elegance. Backless and strapless cocktail dresses were seen with feathered accents, as
Angsana attempted to bring a more light-hearted approach to the concept of evening attire. One black tie-front dress included a bubble hem for a sense of polished youth.

To close out what seemed to be more like a story of love rather than a simple runway show, a black and platinum, draped evening dress was sent out. The gown gleamed with the two tango dancers walking alongside the model, as hints of platinum were emphasized by the light.
Angsana designed graceful, romantic, and classic dresses that could turn any woman into a believer of the power of love.
