The young Dutch designer Jan Taminiau has cooperated with Sacha to create a small collection of shoes.
The collection was presented in Amsterdam at the Sacha shop in Leidsestraat at the end of November. During a small party Jan Taminiau showed his new creations for the first time. Sacha by Jan Taminiau winter-collection consists of two types of boots and pumps in several colors and is now available in the majority of Sacha branches in The Netherlands and Belgium.
The mini shoes collection of Jan Taminiau has been inspired on its clothing where particularly the 'postzakken' collection plays a role. This successful serial of clothing was taken as a main point in the search to the correct material to produce the shoes.
The short and high boots are available in black, blue or natural/beige denim and prices go from '¬ 79.95 to '¬ 119.95.
Jan Taminiau is very enthusiastic concerning the cooperation with Sacha, 'a unique experience' - he said- 'where I could use my whole creativity'. Jan Taminiau has always had a dream to have his own shoes line: after his fashion studies he wanted to become a shoes designer, but destiny chose for him to be first a clothing designer!
Fashion designer Jan Taminiau comes from a family tradition of antique dealers, decorators and interior designers. This formed the foundation for his passion for traditional production techniques, antique materials, the search for the right shape and form and the penchant for aesthetics. His work has a refined, conceptual undertone yet never loses sight of the elegant, feminine and wearable form. Taminiau graduated from the master course Fashion Institute Arnhem, and after a work placement at Hubert Barrere he started his own couture label. He created collections where he turned 2D into 3D; where dresses turned into a perfect circle or a rectangle when laid flat on the floor. The symbol of unfolding, the sensitivity of the unwrapping and the final awakening of the perfect feminine creations leads to a refined end result. Besides working on his couture collections, Taminiau also runs a made-to-measure line. His clothes where presented in the windows of the Paris department store Colette and Taminiau presented his latest work with a catwalk show during the Amsterdam International Fashion Week in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
