New York City
In the beginning man and woman were created and thus the need for beautiful garments was born. Building upon her credo, 'Feel like a woman. Wear a dress,' Diane von Furstenberg's Spring 2007 Collection in the Tent of Bryant Park was entitled, 'All About Eve.' Furstenberg waved goodbye to stark fig leaves and continued on her mission to make every woman, from the first to the last, feel beautiful.

It comes as no surprise that Furstenberg's spring collection had a handful of wrap dresses alternating from bold lively prints to demure unembellished solids, seen in an electric green and yellow print with gold bow wrap and a solid salmon wrap. Some of Furstenberg's designs were a throw back to the times of Eve with serpent prints weaved among the designs. The signature staple shared its space with loose trousers, trapeze shorts, bubble skirts, bandeau tops, swing coats and cocoon silhouettes. A black bandeau top matched with a cocoon print skirt and an off the shoulder black tunic and apple red mini-skirt was quickly succeeded by a wide strapped navy print top with white trapeze shorts and a black swing coat with white web detailing. The vast array of options was not only appealing but was extremely wearable with the easier silhouettes of tunics and smocks.

Among the collection of fresh pieces, Furstenberg paid homage to what has worked for her in the past her primary muse, the dress, as seen in a lime green collared shirt dress. She also sent out more elegant forms in a creamy white gown with gold studs and a flowy sheer black gown.

Furstenberg tipped her hat to spring with tiny butterflies on a white bubble dress and an oversized red ladybug on a white smock. Also in the mix was a low cut one piece leopard print bathing suit covered by a spirited green and blue print coat. A pair of neon pink leggings not only suggested the form fitting item isn't going anywhere next season, it will only be getting brighter.

Hair was simple with free-flowing natural locks while punky pink lips added some flair to the simplicity of the line. A mixed collage of earrings that dangled below the shoulder and necklaces that dangled below the waist were the primary accessories in the collection. Along with the colorful prints and energizing solids of coral, orange, green and gold that popped under the fashion lights were quiet navies, blacks and whites.

A bundle of wrap dresses later, Furstenberg is still the go to girl for us ladies to seek out when we need to feel extra special. If only Eve had known when she bit into that crunchy apple that she would begin a fashion craze with the wrap dress. Maybe she would have taken a second bite?
