Los Angeles Fall 2008 Fashion Week seemed more like Spring time in Paris as Alan Del Rosario strutted his latest designs down the catwalk for the Bow & Arrow by Alan Del Rosario Fall 2008 Collection.

The show opened to a sultry, modern rendition of Peggy Lee’s Fever. The song ultimately described the line perfectly: warm, flirty and feminine.  Del Rosario brought a young, vibrant view to a season that is usually trapped with just black, grey and tweed.

Alan Del Rosario said his muses for his Bow & Arrow Fall 2008 Collection are working women who manage to stay feminine and excel in the male-oriented corporate world.  Del Rosario might have been thinking more for the modern Parisian Woman strolling through the open markets in May than the modern Los Angeles Woman commuting to work on an October day. No matter which continent Del Rosario truly received his inspiration, it works. This vibrant and colorful view can be seen through his feminine craftsmanship of predominately wool and silk blend creations that flowed with grace and whimsy down the runway.

A-line dresses were a key item for Alan Del Rosario and the Bow & Arrow Fall 2008 Collection. Del Rosario designed more of a lower case A this year, by remembering  there is a woman under the dress. He tightened the line in the A-line dress to define the curve a little bit more. Soft flowing stacked silk layers, dainty floral embroidery, and vibrant shifts were highlights of the show.  Also, Del Rosario used metallic and hot fuchsia to reel in that 80’s look that seemed to be lingering at Los Angeles Fall Fashion Week 2008.

Let us not forget the work aspect of the Bow & Arrow by Alan Del Rosario Fall 2008 Collection. In keeping with his working women who stay feminine theme, Del Rosario’s other key items were jackets. Cocoon jackets in varied fabrics and sizes wrapped up nicely over Del Rosario’s vision of work clothes.

Fitted one button jackets were shown in both long and short capped sleeves.  Del Rosario even brought back the cropped two button jacket, which actually worked well within the line; albeit, was also geared more toward Spring with a light airy feel.

The Bow & Arrow by Alan Del Rosario Fall 2008 Fashion Collection did have a hint of a casual evening side. The evening side also reflected more of a sassy, sexy, carefree working woman who is running out after work to catch a few drinks with her girlfriends: ala Sex and the City. That is probably the main reason the runway show attracted such sassy, sexy celebrities as Jenna Jameson, Adrienne Janic, Appolonia Kotero, and Christine Devine.

The Spring-like whimsy mixed with sophistication from the Bow & Arrow by Alan Del Rosario Fall 2008 Fashion Collectionwas a nice change from the usually drab and mundane collections seen at Los Angeles Fall Fashion Week. Del Rosario kept it clean and simple with A-line dresses and cocoon jackets. Wool and silk blends were his fabrics of choice, while black, cream, camel, fuchsia and powerful flashes of metallic dominated the color palette.
