LASplash.com: Style and Fashion Beach Bunny Swimwear Spring 2009 Collection Review – Swimwear Never Has To Be Dull Again By Jerod Williams
The beach has ascended onto the runway at this year’s Mercedes Benz LA Fashion Week. Angela Chittenden, swimsuit model for publications like STUFF, MAXIM and OCEAN DRIVE, unveiled a sleek and sexy line of swimwear meant to capture the eye of any beach aficionado.
Chittenden describes her line of beachwear as fun, flirty and seriously sultry, much like the women who wear them. She preserves the sexy by introducing to the press, photojournalists and fashion enthusiasts five innovative lines: Nautical But Nice, Steal My Kisses, Malibu Barbie, Wild Child and French Connection. Celebrities who have purchased her designs include: Eva Longoria, Jessica Alba, Ashley Tisdale, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sienna Miller. With the assistance of hair by Aveda, makeup by MAC and GUESS by Marciano shoes, she had a high energy show that was worthy of being a part of fashion week.
How apropos was it for Chittenden to bring the beach to the runway? As LL Cool J’s “ Going Back to Cali” played over the loudspeakers, models radiated confidence and sensuality as they strutted on the catwalk. The energy and the atmosphere in the room conveyed the feel of being at an exotic locale for Spring Break. Not only was beachwear on the agenda, but also jumpers, couture lingerie and baby doll dresses. What made each outfit unique is the fact that she does not overkill with the accessories on her elegant swimwear designs as she took a more simplistic route. Her attention to detail was evident as she mixed purses, hats and shoulder lace wraps with her signature bikinis.
Chittenden’s mission was to make her line creative and exciting and take it to a level that goes beyond being worn to the beach. She dresses up each of her bikinis with accessories that are eye-popping and colorful. She also uses Swarovski Crystals, metallic chains and lace to create a more upscale and glamorous look.
Beach Bunny Swimwear exceeded in expectation, exuded in sexuality and created a timeless look that will have the average consumer flocking to the nearest department store to find her creations. Her designs can stand on their own with or without the accessories and still can come off looking sensational.
