Sandro has opened its first West Coast area stand-alone store at the Forum Shops at Caesars in Las Vegas. Prior to this opening, the french-based clothing line was available in the West at Bloomingdale's locations in California.
The company is know internationally in fashion conscious circles with more than 200 boutiques worldwide. The opening reception featured no less a name than famed fashion blogger Garance Dore as host to the press and invited guests who attended on May 16, 2013.
Those visiting the 975 square foot free standing shop during the opening enjoyed champagne, custom cocktails, and passed hors d'oeuvres as they perused the chic fashions for both women and men. The enthusiastic first patrons also took home gift packages for their enjoyment which included “The Sartorialist” a book of photos by Scott Schuman.
The company, founded in 1984 by Evelyn Chétrite and known for feminine versatile dressing opened its first store in France. In 2008, Evelyn's son Ilan Chétrite, decided to create the Sandro menswear collection after graduating from Paris Dauphine University. He is the man behind the seasonal collection of revisited classics with a chic edge. Ilan clearly inherited his parents' sense of style.
In the United States, the fashions are found primarily in Bloomingdales, but with the opening of the Las Vegas store, Sandro begins a new chapter in its expansion in the U. S. market. According to Rachel Tigges, head of marketing and communications for the company, plans call for the opening of two more stores in the West Coast area with ongoing talks for four more locations. Look for one on Beverly Drive in Los Angeles, followed by San Francisco, then on to Miami and other major cities.
Tigges described the Las Vegas location as a, “new concept store with new design, very high end with limestone, inspired by a Paris apartment. The floor is herringbone with chrome finishing.” The Forum Shops store is designed in black and white and features Sandro's full ready-to-wear collections, as well as shoes and accessories including scarves, socks, belts, and men's ties.
The brand is French, Dore said, and is very popular in Paris and Europe. “It has a very wearable spirit and includes fashionable staples. The French have a relaxed way of dressing. The style is simple, sexy and achievable and approachable.” She continued, stating that the line is “really very successful” and, not only does she write about it, “I wear it.”
The company is known by fashion conscious people for its classic men’s and women’s ready-to-wear clothing. The fashionable clothing line melds European simplicity with modern design elements in dresses, fitted jackets, embellished pullovers, and tapered trousers.
Many of the shoppers were familiar with the brand and excited to know that Sandro is available at the Forum Shops. Sandro is located near the Festival Fountain next to Carmine's Restaurant, close to LK Bennett and Banana Republic. For further information, call 702 464 5170 or check out the website.
