La Salonniere. The French word for salons. And the name of Jenny Packham’s new Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection. No wonder I am in love. Paris in the 17th Century is the setting. And so the story goes - “Women gathered in these salons to discuss the arts, the philosophy of Voltaire and Descartes and to produce and shape the literature of their time,” according to the show notes. Jenny Packham is inspired by these salonnieres. And I am inspired by her splendid designs that create a fairy tale of wonder, elegance, and grandeur.

Jenny Packham’s new collection of Le Salonniere designs are truly worthy of their Parisian namesake where the “splendor and sophistication of the rooms reflected the passion and energy of the women that filled them.” Encore.
Jenny Packham’s Autumn/Winter Collection 2013 transports everyone into a fantasy fairy tale. Where flowing gowns, perfected soft colors, and sheer fabrics draped over satins and silks on model princesses felt like being inside a crystal ball.

Seeing her new collection is a breathtaking, exhilarating experience. One mesmerizing silhouette after another graced the runway in a crescendo of beauty. A whirling wonderland. Just looking at the display of Le Salonniere gowns conjured images of palaces, castles, and of course…fairy tales.
Sequins and crystals accentuate this fairy-tale fantasy evening-wear gown
Based in the UK, Jenny Packham does in fact dress the royalty. Regular clients include The Dutchess of Cambridge as well as Kate Winslet, Catherine Zeta-Jones and even Angelina Jolie. Mais oui. And did I mention Adele wore Jenny Packham to the Oscars this year?

The sequence of bejeweled gowns and captivating colors in Jenny Packham’s Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection was a revelation. Her designs accentuate the power of female form. Feminine. Womanly. Exuding beauty.

Foremost is a signature aqua-marine evening gown with shimmering sequins on a sheer neckline that mesmerizes and bedazzles. Then there is the pink-coral satin gown with a glittering broach and white sweater. A glorious combination. Followed was the deep rich red of a strapless stunner. Rich is the word on every level. Shades of pinks to marines and ending in bold blacks. Sunrise to sunset.

These are a few of my favorite things.
Glitter and sequins and lush satin sashes,
Aquas and opals and pinks with red dashes
Shimmering, glimmering flowing with ease
Jenny Packham’s designs bring us all to our knees...

I admit it….I re-believe in fairy tales. Especially those set in Paris.
