Malibu nonprofit, Safety Harbor Kids, has partnered with a number of philanthropic firms to raise funds for disadvantaged children. Wall Street firms, Goldman Sachs, Houlihan Lokey, and The Gold Hedge have supported Safety Harbor Kids education programs for years and most recently, the luxury electric manufacturer Tesla Motors, participated in the charity's 7th Annual Polo Fundraiser in Pacific Palisades, California on Saturday, September 7, 2013.
Held at the Will Rogers Polo Field, the 7th Annual event partners included the British American Business Council, Brit Week, Brits in LA. With actor and comedian Hal Sparks serving as Master of Ceremonies, the event was sponsored by Segno Marketing and The Gold Hedge.
Attendees dined on lobster and shrimp dishes prepared by celebrity Chef Jack Lee while sipping CasalNova Prosecco and enjoying a wine tasting, open bar, performances by Dream World Cirque, High Tea by Charles & Company Tea, a string quartet and vocal performances. The festivities also included a VIP gaming tournament won by Brits in LA co-founder Eileen Lee who took home 1st prize donated by John Kelley Chocolates.Tesla Motors, whose model S was voted Motor Trend Car of the Year had a car on display.
Founded in 2007, Safety Harbor Kids (SHK) is a 501c3 nonprofit formed for the purpose of enriching the lives of parentless and homeless children through education in the areas of college, career, music and the arts. SHK operates with one of the lowest average expense ratios in the nation at 36% and serves more than 3,000 at risk youth from group homes and shelters within Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, the United States and Worldwide.
