Las Vegas Gameday - Football Viewing at its Best

Once fall comes and football season is upon us, let's face it, the weekends are accounted for. This generally calls for a recliner in your house or a stool at the bar. But you probably have that one day where you make your way out to a game in person for what you think is the ultimate experience. Between the hassles of getting to a stadium, cost, staring at the sky aimlessly through long timeouts, the true ultimate football experience is Las Vegas.

Instead of spending one day getting to experience one game if you go to a stadium to see a game in person, Las Vegas affords you the chance to see every minute of every game. There is no battling the elements unless you consider sunshine and perfect weather outside and air conditioning and cocktail waitresses inside battling the elements. In Las Vegas in most spots you won't even miss a snap when you take a bathroom break.

The sports book like the rest of Las Vegas has become a non-stop race to see who can best who and that leaves you as the winner. The screens and sound are better, food has been elevated along with cocktails and beer that are far above what you are going to find at any tailgate.

We mention Las Vegas, but to get to our favorite sports book you need to go a little bit off of the strip to the Red Rock Resort. The Red Rock sports book just threw down the gauntlet to the rest of Las Vegas in August by adding new 2.5MM Nanoslim Engage LED displays, which are the largest ones of their kind ever installed in North America. You almost have to see it to believe it. This ultra-high definition experience provides you a better picture than you will find anywhere and the Red Rock gives you nearly 32 yards of wall-to-wall race and sports book brilliance.

"It's like watching football on big movie screens, there is not a bad seat in the house and the players just pop off the screen," Jason McCormick, Director of Race and Sports said. "Being in the sports book, it's not just about one game, you hear a cheer and see a score and then another cheer and you wonder what just happened and you get to party with 300 of your closest friends."

The views alone make the Red Rock sports book worth visiting, but in addition you will find they have the fastest window service in Las Vegas, live in-game betting on certain games and Sports Connection Mobile so you don't even have to go to the window to place your wager. There are plenty of seats, along with a VIP section and a non-smoking section that contains more than 100 seats. While the Red Rock sports book is made up of 85% locals, if you are visiting from outside of town, make the short drive to Summerlin and enjoy this stunning sports book.

You can't go wrong by hanging out in a sports book all day with spots ranging from the Skyboxes at MGM Grand’s Race & Sports Book that will have you overlooking the entire sports book and feeling like a VIP or the beautiful ARIA sports book that gives you the chance to walk around the corner and enjoy a slice of gourmet pizza from James Beard Award-winning Chef Shawn McClain’s FIVE50 Pizza Bar. There is so much more to Las Vegas and football than the sports book.

MGM Grand SkyBox

MGM Grand is home to two of our favorite spots in all of Las Vegas that combine the best of football, food and beer; Michael Mina Pub 1842 and TAP Sports Bar. Pub 1842 is home to the perfect football dish, soft hot pretzels and beer cheese with a poached egg and bacon and you can enjoy that with your own personal beer tap at your table. TAP brings the world of sports memorabilia into their restaurant along with a wall of televisions to enjoy the games while you feast on gourmet bar food.

TAP Memorabilia

If you are looking for an endless selection of beers, The Pub at Monte Carlo and Yard House at The LINQ are you to best options. These two spots could put a beer in front of you for each minute of a football game and they could still keep pouring varieties of beer after the final whistle.

A few of our other favorites include; Tilted Kilt at The LINQ, Diablo's Cantina, sports book at the Wynn and to recover from all your football watching, drinking and eating we have to start or end our day at REVIV at MGM Grand for one of their magical IV treatments.
