Alondra Park is pretty flat course. There is a good variety of holes and most of the greens are raised. Gullies around the course make you pay addition although they do not present a major disaster. Several risk, reward holes help keep the course a little more interesting.

The course, as most local LA courses are, heavily played. Alondra hosts a lot of private club tournaments so reservations are recommended and if you are going to walk on, be sure and call in advance.

Nestled at the base of the Angeles National Forest, this is the only Nicklaus Design golf course in the County of Los Angeles. Angeles National has been carefully and thoughtfully designed to preserve the beautiful landscape and natural surroundings of this unknown location that feels so far away, yet is so very close to all of Los Angeles.

The course has a desert style design, so if you are not hitting straight, bring extra balls. The holes are varied and call for well planned shots, course management is a must to score low.

A local municipal course, Hansen Dam Golf Course travels alongside the Dam providing nice backstop to a good, playable track. Numerous elevation changes and a wide variety of holes keep you thinking on this course. The back nine is much flatter than the front with a couple exceptions. the ninth hole is a severally uphill par 4 and decisions must be made before teeing off - second shot from the flat or at a sever upward angle.

A nice local 9 hole course, well maintained, just blocks from the ocean so you get a nice breeze. Pace of play is generally slow but you can usually get out without a tee time. It is a nice course to work on your game. The course is walking only and but you there are several long par 4's and you will need to play well to be on in regulation.

A good local course, The Links at Victoria is a relatively long playing course. Most holes have minor elevation changes and are pretty wide open - you can get out of trouble. Several holes are risk/reward. The back nine often is very windy making number 15, with the wind coming at you, a challenging par 5.

An interesting aside is that on hole 16, a long par 3, just off to the left is the home of the Goodyear Blimp which can frequently been seen taking of and landing.
