2015 MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas - Austin, TX

The Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas hosted the second race of the 2015 MotoGP season which was the first race in the United States on April 10th-12th. The rain didn’t stop a weekend full of adrenaline which featured multiple classes of racing and categories of the world’s most talented, skilled, and daring riders.

The Results:

1. Marc Marquez, Repsol Honda Team, 25 Points, Time 43'47.150 and Speed

158.6 km/h.

2. Andrea Dovizioso, Ducati Team, 20 Points, Time 43'49.504 and speed 158.5 km/h.

3. Valentino Rossi, Movistar Yamaha MotoGP, 16 Points, Time 43'50.270, Speed 158.4 km/h.

Marc Marquez took first place in a thrilling race on Sunday, and once again the Spaniard went on to take a commanding win, confirming the Spanish current World Champion as the true MotoGP master of COTA, having taken victory in all three MotoGP races in Austin.  He was able to fight for the win in Austin, even though the track was a bit slippery he managed to move into first early, found his rhythm and fortunately was able to maintain the lead. The weather was a lot better on Sunday than the first day of the race. A brilliant battle for second ensued between Dovizioso and his fellow Italian, Valentino Rossi, with the riders almost colliding through turn 12 at one point.

Marquez continues to set new milestones in his grand prix career. The win in Austin was his sixth MotoGP victory in the USA, continuing his sequence of winning every race that he has started in America in the MotoGP class. Marquez is now fifth in the list of riders with the most MotoGP podium finishes after Valentino Rossi, Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, and Casey Stoner. The win for Marquez in Austin was his 31st podium in MotoGP class.

After the action on track had finished, the incredible weekend came to a thrilling conclusion with Cheap Trick performing some of their greatest hits in the Austin360 Amphitheater, sending fans home after a truly memorable weekend of sport and entertainment at COTA

Circuit of The Americas(COTA) welcomed over 120,000 fans and had the biggest names in the motorcycle road and racing industries, a marvelous festival at the world class circuit and concert venue for the third year of MotoGP action in Austin, Texas.

Ducati Island, Ducati’s premier showcase live event showcase for fans returned to COTA in 2015 with live music and a stunning display of bikes and apparel. On display were iconic two-wheeled brands including Honda, Suzuki, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, BMW Motorrad, KTM, Yamaha (who also brought the Yamaha Kids Riding Area), Victory and Harley-Davidson. Fans were able to take demo rides throughout the weekend on Victory, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha bikes.

Fans were also able to enjoy the ARCH Motorcycle bike display in the Paddock and celebrities such as Keanu Reeves, Tommy Lee Jones, and Tyler Florence were among other celebrities that attended the race.

Circuit of The Americas was an unforgettable experience with family-friendly entertainment from motorcycle and BMX stunt riders, manufacturer displays and demonstrations, excellent food and beverage options, the world's largest collection of Evel Knievel memorabilia, and a post-race concert from American rock band Cheap Trick.
