♥Broken Engagement♥Lesbian Romance♥Midnight Tattoos♥High Class Clubbing♥Dive Bar Karaoke♥

When you have nothing to left to lose what do you do? My engagement came to an end. I helped him move out. We still visited each other. I suppose that was the mistake, not having a clean break. It was too much tug of war with my heart and mind. I was visiting him at his apartment and I realized that I had to formulate that clean break. I remembered that I was offered a job set to start the Tuesday after Memorial Day. He fell asleep. I packed a pair of jeans, a skirt, two slacks, a pair of flip flops, four shirts, 2pairs of socks, and a towel. I put my purse in the dufflebag. He slept soundly. I walked over to him. I kissed him softly on the forehead as tears fell, I whispered, "Good Bye."

Heart was pounding as I walked out the door of my life full of stability and responsibility. A small dufflebag in hand and cell phone in my pocket. 'It's time to take a risk,' I think to myself. The excitement of the life on the edge is ahead of me. I walk down the stairs and get in the car. I have a job waiting for me, but, I have no home, and no money. Can I really do this? Yes! Las Vegas is waiting for me!

I drive up to the beautiful lights of Las Vegas. It feels like a big welcome. "WELCOME TO YOUR NEW LIFE MISS CHRISS," the city seems to be saying. I arrived a few hours too early for my new job, so I drive around this 24hour town. As it turns out, it truly is a 24 hour town. Drinking Starbucks at 4a.m. As I drive down the strip, it's the Tuesday after memorial day. It seems less busy than I pictured it. It's quite beautiful I notice as the sun begins to rise. City of Sin surrounded by majestic mountains and amazing architecture as I drive to my new job, to my new life.

When I arrive to my new job, I smile, and I realize, I did it. I risked everything and I was scared but, I did it. I followed my heart. There were ten core values at this company. When I walk in the door this amazing opportunity, I look around and see the most diverse group of people, I still to this day, have ever seen. Working in harmony, laughing, generally, it seems they are enjoying working there. During my time with this company (Zappos.com), I learned the core values of work and applied them to my life. I fell in love with this company.

Embrace and drive change . Change is the one thing in my life that has been constant when I learned to embrace and drive it, it has taken me to places I never thought I'd go. Change is inevitable! Life is filled with change and chaos, and there is a strange beauty in it all if you not only accept it but, embrace it! Drive it!
Create Fun and Little Weirdness! That said, a boring life, is just that boring. Being a little weird or unique is what makes you stand out. Creating fun makes life much more enjoyable. If you can create fun you can always bring a smile to not only your face, but, the people around you! Life is amazing. Make it fun! Be yourself.
Be Adventurous, Creative, and Open-Minded. If I wasn't adventurous and creative I would not have the superb opportunity of writing this to you. Open-Mindedness has brought me to some of the most amazing people and experiences of my life. Truly AMAZING.
Pursue Growth and Learning. Whether you choose to pursue professional or personal growth they both affect you! Learning is one of the best gifts we have as people. Learning how to do things a new way, learning new things, learning to have patience. Life is ever changing and things come into your path that you can go around or you can learn! Learn all you can! You must constantly grow from your experience and learn everything you can. ̉
Build Open and Honest Relationships With Communication. Every relationship, whether it's personal, professional, or romantic can only survive through honesty and communication. I think we all know how hard it is to communicate sometimes when things are difficult, but, without this communication and honesty there is no basis for a solid relationship. This goes for the relationship you have with yourself. Do not push away the things you are going through. Most of us have a love/hate relationship with ourselves. We should have an ongoing love affair with ourselves. We can do so with honesty.
Build a Positive Team and Family Spirit. Having a positive team and family spirit will keep people close you. People are more likely to do MORE for you if you bring their spirits up and remind them that a team environment, while it can have some bumps can ultimately be one of the most positive and rewarding opportunities. Great minds communicating openly (just like the value above) can lead to some amazing group efforts. I will do whatever it takes to bring the people around me up, and let them know they matter, they affect me and I affect them.
Do More With Less. This is one of my favorite values. Find ways to improve your life utilizing what you have in front of you. Carpools are a great way to do less with more.
Be Passionate and Determined. I am a very passionate person. Pursing life with passion and determination has brought me to some amazing opportunities. Just because you do not know exactly what you are after in life does not mean you can't be passionate. LIFE is something to be passionate about. Once you figure out what it is you want to do with your life, give it all your determination and passion and you WILL achieve the goals you want to reach.
Be humble. Life is an ongoing battle, we never reach THE BEST, constantly working to become the best, there always something you can keep doing to move forward. You can be confident but, remember to be humble.
•Deliver Wow through service . I remind myself to go above and beyond what is expected. This goes for life, do more than is expected of you! Make people say "wow" when you do something. It's memorable.

Although my Zappos career was short lived, just a summer long, this company affected my life. I met some of the most amazing genuine people in my life and it helped give me the drive to travel where I want to go. Pursue the things I desire. It gave me the confidence to follow my heart and try new things.

I met two of my best friends in Las Vegas. They do not really know each other. Lala and Bailey so very different yet, some beautiful souls in these women. I experienced the Las Vegas Life with both of these girls!

Like always we are cruisin!

Bailey and I often drove the strip, going to this 711 downtown in the "bad" part of town to get the best tasting frozen coffees. She was flirty and outgoing, we always ended up with some good looking guys number, usually 2 or 3. Walking Fremont and meeting some drunken out of towners with silly stories who will buy us drinks. Pool Sharks is still my favorite pool hall. Bailey and I were always there. Have a drink shoot some pool and mean some very interesting people. I still am not good at the game, but, that wouldn't stop me from playing. We were known for making midnight runs to the 24hour tattoo shop to get a new tattoo or piercing for Bailey. That girl is something amazing.

Going out to Club Tao in the Venetian.

Lala and I enjoyed hitting up the Karaoke bars, that woman can sing! We went clubbing and had an amazing time. Club Tao in the Venetian is one of the most beautiful places and I do believe it is one of our best memories. Dancing! Drinks! People! Staying the night at each others house like we were in high school. She said that having me in her life was a "blessing." She knew that I moved to Las Vegas with basically nothing. She actually went and got me some clothes so that I wouldn't have to wear the same 4 outfits all the time. She was a mother of two amazing kids. She was that person who didn't know she was beautiful. That girl is gorgeous, inside and out.

This city is very different when you live in it and when you visit it. If you ever want to visit it, obviously the strip is the most popular destination, but, a local favorite is BBQ Masters Karaoke Bar, GREAT drink specials, fun locals, amazing atmosphere and Karaoke! If you want to escape to a pool hall Pool Sharks is it! They are both on Decatur (locals know how to get to Decatur!) For a local to actually go to the strip is very rare, but, I have to admit that the Venetian is a favorite. It is a beautiful, classy, and fun environment. Do not miss out on the Hard Rock!

The Strip Life and The Vegas Life are two very different lives. Nevertheless both have pros and cons. I loved being a tourist and I loved being a local. Las Vegas will always have a piece of my heart.

I grew attached to a woman in a romantic way. I never saw it coming. My roommate, Carmen. She was this amazing, sweet, funny, mother of two. She became attached to me as well. This is when I went to my family with my sexual orientation confusion (Open and Honest Relationship with communication). They were very supportive. I had been to gay pride in Las Vegas before. I have friends who are of all types of orientation, but, this emotion was new to me. She was heartbroken from her breakup with her girlfriend. She said she knew she would end up with her ex-girlfriend again. When I felt my emotions begin to grow deeper. I realized, it's time to embrace and drive change.

It's late. I've packed my bags, again it seems. I whisper, "Good Bye," as I shut the door. Take a deep breath as I walk out. As I get in the car, tears begin to fall. I realize I have not spoken to my ex-fiance in months. Was this the clean break I had formulated? Could I see him again? Will I return to my hometown? Where am I going? What's next?
