Chefs at five of the most interesting and luxurious hotels in the country are cooking up a surprise this Valentine's Day for couples dining in their restaurants. Chefs Andri Tscharner, One Pico (at Shutters on the Beach), Michael Reardon, Oceanfront (at Hotel Casa del Mar), Peter Smithing, Arabelle (at The Plaza Athenee), Marc Cassel, Dragonfly (at Hotel ZaZa), and Gloria Ciccarone-Nehls at The Big Four (at The Huntington Hotel & Spa) will be serving up more than romantic gastronomic affairs in their restaurants, and savoring a dessert at the end of the dinner may lead to a sweeter surprise than just the dessert itself.

Attached to the bottom of one of the dessert plates at Dragonfly in Dallas, Arabelle in New York and Big Four in San Francisco will be complimentary two-night stays at two of the most romantic beachfront luxury hotels in the world: Shutters on the Beach and Hotel Casa del Mar, both located on the sands of Santa Monica, California. Attached to some of the dessert plates at One Pico and Oceanfront will be gift certificates for overnight stays at Plaza Athenee, The Huntington and Hotel ZaZa. Valued over $1,200 each, the overnight stays include accommodations and tax, and are redeemable based on availability.
