Samsung NX 30 Review - This Samsung Camera Amazes

This is simply a fantastic camera, the Samsung NX 30, very light to carry and the photo quality is amazing. Before a trip to Jamaica, I turned in a $4500 camera to receive this Samsung that I simply wanted to try. My older camera was heavier but it worked well. Without any training on this new model, I set off to document my sightseeing, resort stay and runaway experiences.

Easy to use

To begin with, I was amazed at the beauty of the low light photos, as well as, the ability of the camera to capture the models in motion.  The color saturation of the photos is just incredible.  The interface is so intuitive, I was able to learn to use the panorama feature to make less than 180 degree photos, a very useful when sightseeing, quite easily. The NX30 is bundled with an 18-55 lens that offers a wide range for all-around use;  that made it easy to show the beauty of everyday life in Jamaica.

Great color

This camera actually ignites the visual senses. I found this amazing camera has and does everything. It shot landscape and action equally well in rich colored high quality images with the advanced 20.3MP APS-C CMOS Sensor. The photographs were literally bursting out of the frame.  Each photo had sharp detail and intense colors. I learned the large sensor is ideal for creating rich images with dramatic foreground and background blur, thus giving me professional quality imaging for my trip.

Great lens

One of the most useful features in the Samsung NX is the AF System II that boasts fast and accurate auto focusing.  This new model ensured that all moments, including fast-moving scenes and subjects like beautiful runway models were not missed. I shot continuously at 9 frames per second (FPS) and created brilliant, clear stills of fast-moving action.  What was really cool was the top shutter speed of 1/8000 of a second, because I captured movements that couldn’t be seen by the naked eye.

The NX30 can work in lots of conditions

Lately Samsung cameras rank number three in global market share, accounting for nearly 10% of worldwide sales, I believe for a good reason. In recent years Samsung cameras have received praise and numerous awards for their designs and innovative features. They produce a number of digital cameras across several product lines. This Samsung NX30 is definitely a camera that you want to show off to friends and family, and one that survived a few bumps and scrapes.

I used the Samsung NX30 SMART Camera to take vibrant photographs and videos. The camera I found has an advanced auto-focus system and a 20.3-megapixel sensor for fast use. The 3-inch AMOLED swivel display made it easy to frame each shot.

Besides shooting brilliant photos and videos, I easily shared and downloaded them. The Wi-Fi connectivity allowed me to send pictures to friends or upload them to my social networks. Simply I tapped the camera to my smartphone to instantly share an image. So the AutoShare feature, allowed me to instantly share to any NFC-compatible smartphone or tablet. It was like being able to shoot them over a Wi-Fi connection.

Therefore, the camera makes it easy to back up photos and share them wherever you are.I learned I could shoot and save images simultaneously on my own personal cloud.

Not a lot to learn

So thanks to built-in Wi-Fi capability, the NX30 makes it easy to post pictures and videos--along with comments--to Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, and other sites. You can also email files to friends and family members or use the Group Share function, which allows you to send images to up to four people simultaneously. Believe it or not, the NX30 also comes with 2 GB of free Dropbox online storage or 50 GB if you also own a GALAXY smartphone, boy that was useful.

I used the remote viewfinder to frame a group photo or zoom in and out using my smartphone. The advanced auto-focus and sensor creates crisp and detailed photos. This camera is built with a hybrid auto-focus system and an advanced 20.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor. Therefore the Samsung NX30 SMART Camera delivers fast focusing and stunning depth-of-field and out-focusing effects. The auto-focus system combines phase detection auto-focus and contrast auto-focus for fast, accurate results. The APS-C CMOS sensor captures light to create noise-free pictures and video.

The fast shutter speeds made capturing the moment easy. The camera features a top shutter speed of 1/8000 of a second, along with a quick autofocus system, the NX30 enables you to capture movements that can't be seen by the naked eye. Frame Low-Angle Shots with AMOLED Swivel Display - On the back of the NX30 is a brilliant 3-inch AMOLED swivel and touch display that offers vibrant colors, exceptional contrasts, and virtually blur-free motion clarity. The swivel display flips up and down 270 degrees and pivots 180 degrees horizontally.

With the NX30, you can not only shoot photos, but you can also take 1080p Full HD videos. The Smart Range+ feature automatically gives tonal detail a boost, resulting in brighter shadows and darker highlights. Then use the HDMI interface to play your video back on an HDTV.

Photo beam allowed me to share photos with only one touch. My NX30 made it a snap to share photos. Simply tap the camera on any NFC-compatible smartphone to automatically share whichever image you're currently viewing. Plus when you connect the camera to select smartphones, you can use the Remote View Finder Pro app to turn your phone into a viewfinder.

A SMART Panel allows you to adjust camera settings, including shutter speed, Iris, exposure control, ISO, and white balance--all wirelessly from the screen of your smartphone. This feature also lets you GPS-tag your photos.

Based on NFC technology, Samsung's Mobile Link app lets you select and send photos or albums to a designated smartphone or tablet, even when you're away from a Wi-Fi hotspot, and without having to send the photos as a text message or an email. The app also lets you manage photos on your smartphone and save the changes automatically to the camera. Saving photos, video clips, and more to your computer is easy with the NX30. I just selected the PC Auto Backup function, and the camera wirelessly transfers all of the files on the camera to my PC or Mac.

Thanks to Samsung Link, you can connect this camera wirelessly with other nearby Samsung Link-enabled devices and share photos and videos or upload them to your web storage service.

Samsung's HomeSync feature allows you to save photos and videos to your own personal storage cloud and share them. Even if you're somewhere else in the world, you can share what you capture in real time with your family at home, with photos and videos streamed right to your Samsung Smart TV.

Powered by Samsung's next-generation DSP imaging engine, the DRIMe IV image processor delivers superior color reproduction and noise reduction whether you're shooting in 2D or 3D.

Well suited for capturing natural-looking images indoors or outside at night, the NX30 lets you shoot up to ISO 25600, making it twice as sensitive to light as the previous model of this camera. As a result, you can snap high-speed photos with minimal noise and blurring, even in low-light conditions.

Using this camera's i-Function control, you can quickly and intuitively adjust the aperture, shutter speed, EV, and ISO range with a single button and a value ring on the lens. i-Function also lets you program existing buttons with frequently used settings and set up shortcut keys.

Any angle

An ideal companion for the NX30, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 allows you to bring out all the details in photos, resulting in crisp, professional-looking shots. This software lets you organize photos by location with GPS tagging. You can also view and make adjustments to video clips, turn them into still images, or trim and edit them according to your needs. I can go on and on but it is enough to say this is awesome camera and I am glad I have it.
