The exhibit floor at CES in Las Vegas (January 6-9, 2016) was loaded with enough digital devices to make anyone's head spin.It was refreshing to find an exhibitor that was not hooked into a computer or flying a drone. Whoosh Inc markets a special liquid screen cleaning product that we were told not only cleans, but also disinfects computer and cell phone screens.
Prior to attending the 2016 CES, we receive more e mails than we can keep track of. Whoosh sent one that said, “How dirty is your phone?” The e mail went on to say that, “Did you know that over 80% of mobile phones have some form of bacterial contamination on them?” Okay, this was a booth we wanted to visit to find out more.
We met with Alister Senn, Whoosh's Marketing Director. He cleaned our phone screens for us and told us that mobile phones were, “ just plain dirty.” We learned that clinical studies have shown that 18% of mobile phones are contaminated with staphlococus, while 16% contain fecal floi or E-coll i contamination. Phones are ten times dirtier than a toilet seat and the user's hands touch all of this.
Senn told us that Whoosh solution helps to eliminate these problems. The product when used in conjunction with a supplied antimicrobial cloth will kill the bacteria and leave a protective coating that will continue to kill bacteria and provide a clear smudge proof coating.
The product is non-toxic and is free of alcohol and ammonia. And it is 100% non-toxic. Whoosh is a winner of the 2014 CES innovation award. It can purchased through Amazon, Frys, other retailers or online at Whoosh Inc Cleaning kits start a $6. We brought home a sample and from now on, when I plug in my phone to recharge it, I'll clean and disinfect it as well.
