Morey's Pier Famous Wildwood Boardwalk - Raging Waters Went To The Dogs

On a balmy, sunny September Sunday something unique was going on in Wildwood!

Morey's Pier and Beachfront Water Parks, located on the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ, ended their typical busy summer at the Raging Waters Water Park on September 7. 2014.  Exiting were many children and parents reminiscing about another amazing summer in Wildwood. School and books now upon them instead of beach fun, water parks and ice cream.

Entering was a new 'breed' of customer for the final few hours of the Raging Waters Water Park. The new “breed” of customers included all shapes and sizes, short hair, long hair and wagging tails . Yes! The Raging Waters Water Park went to the dogs.

Back by very popular demand, Morey's Piers opened the Water Park to 150 dogs and their families.

There were dogs of all sizes and breeds anxiously waiting in line for the fun to begin. Some came equipped with water gear, a few with cameras on their backs to record their swim adventures. The excited families could not wait to see the dogs play in the paddle parks or swim in the fountain pool.

Fun for families and the dogs

There were dogs enjoying the slides and playing fetch with the balls or Frisbees, which were  gifts from Morey's Pier. Lifeguards were on duty in case any dog needed assistance. Owners could dine at the Wrecker's Beach Grill while their dogs enjoyed the pools and slides.

The water feels great!

There was also an adorable dog swimsuit competition that evening.

The excitement of these dogs was infectious. This was an absolute brilliant concept by Morey's Pier and Water Parks. I encourage anyone with a dog to attend next summer to allow your dog this fun opportunity to swim and play in the water park. You and your pet will have this special summer memory for years to come.

Before you venture next summer to the boardwalk for fun at the Water Parks, you can bring your dog to the new Wildwood Dog Friendly Beach. Located at Poplar Avenue the dog beach stretches a full city block wide and over 1500 feet long. A new fire hydrant statue was placed there this summer that marks the spot where you can bring “Fido" for a day of fun in the ocean.  The beach is equipped with fresh water and dog clean up bags for your pet. The dog friendly beach is open each day from 6:00 am to dusk during the season.

While visiting Wildwood you must stop at Duffers Ice Cream and Restaurant on Pacific Avenue for the best ice cream throughout the entire NJ Shore area. Duffers, known for its infamous homemade ice cream and giant sundaes, is a fabulous way to end your summer day. They also offer take-out so you can enjoy their scrumcious ice cream outside on their benches with your dog.

The summer of 2014 was filled with great memories for those who brought their dogs to Wildwood, NJ!  Wildwood is Famous for being THE summer destination for families, it is also now THE place for families and man's best friend. Dog lovers have  a new beach destination for summer 2015!
