U2 Heads Back to its Roots with The iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour

Rock legends U2 announce their new 2015 iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour with legs in Europe and North America. Since their start in 1976, U2 has won more Grammy Awards than any other artist, totaling at 22. With 13 studio albums and over 150 million in record sales, one of the greatest bands of all time now aims to take things back to their roots. The iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour is set to play at 19 different cities in smaller venues with a more intimate atmosphere. This is a huge change from their 360 tour which dominated sports arenas and stadiums back in 2009.

The tour officially starts May 14 in Vancouver, Canada, making its way to Europe in September. Even with 60 performances already planned, U2 looks to expand their concert to more locations in the coming months due to demand. From New York to Los Angeles, from Berlin to London, lead singer Bono has promised fans a unique experience at every stop with special events and playlists designed for each city. At least two shows have been scheduled for each stop, but tickets and VIP packages are still selling fast. Tickets went on sale December 8, but select dates in big cities like Chicago, Boston, New York City, London and Paris have already sold out.

The tour celebrates their most recent album, ‘Songs of Innocence’, released September 9, 2014. Produced by Danger Mouse, the album was released for free on iTunes where it quickly became the largest digital release of all time at 500 million downloads. Despite being free online, the album still sold 28,000 copies in its first week alone, reaching number one on Billboard’s Top Modern Rock Charts. It also spawned the hit single ‘The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)'. The album marked their first release since the 2009 album ‘No Line on the Horizon’.

With their first tour dates since 2011, the Rock Hall of Fame band won't have tickets around for long. The unique venues and atmosphere promises to be a once in a lifetime fan experience. Don’t miss out on your chance to see U2 perform live near you.
