There are few artists who are able to master various musical talents, but for some it may come more natural than for others, and Nadene Pita is surely one of them. Not only is Pita is an incredibly talented violist, she also has a spectacular voice to follow her composing and improvisation skills.

Born in the North Island of beautiful New Zealand, Pita developed a truly unique genre that merges together electroacoustic improvisation with abstract jazz and adds a touch of her classical inspirations to the mix. Pita also gathers inspirations from a number of things including her studies in cross-cultural improvisation, her mixed heritage and not to mention her childhood spent in Queensland, Australia.

Pita’s first album Turning Arrows into Flowers, which was recorded in a small cottage in Kangaroo Valley and also in an apartment overlooking the awing Bondi Beach, received much attention following successful acclamation back in 2009 in which she collaborated with some of Australia’s most respected musicians. Listen to Pita’s captivating melodies from the track Missing from the Turning Arrows into Flowers album here.

Now, Pita has currently moved to sunny California residing in Los Angeles, where she has recently performed with David Ornette Cherry’s Organic Nation Ensemble at the historic World Stage in Leimert Park. There is no doubt that Nadene Pita is a gifted musician leaving her audience with eager ears awaiting her next masterpiece.
