I should know. I was one of the lucky passengers, along with my man & 2000+ other passengers from LA, Miami & around the world, who set sail from Long Beach on September 27 & went on Groove Cruise LA's unforgettable maiden 3 day epic voyage to from Long Beach to Catalina & Ensenada. Normally, what happens on Groove Cruise stays on Groove Cruise. However, since we were lucky enough to be invited to the party, here's your exclusive behind the scenes Splash Magazine look at what went down on GrooveCruise LA, through the eyes & ears of my man & I. My guy is a hard core trance music fan, while I was happy to be invited to the party, there for the experience. Both of us, however, were equally excited about Groove Cruise's main headliners, DJ Masters Markus Schulz & Morgan Page. They did not disappoint & both went above & beyond all expectations. See & hear for yourself. We not only got to hear some of their best performances yet, but also had a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet & interact with these worldwide DJ legends.
Here's how the 72 non stop music adventure played out on Groove Cruise LA 2013. A picture & video are worth a thousand words. Through the eyes of our lens onboard the Groove Cruise, I'll let the following tell the story.
Day 1 - September 27 - Long Beach to Catalina
All aboard. Headliner: Markus Schulz Theme: Tutus & Ties
Groove Cruise's Main Headliner, Markus Schulz, whose 4 hour set began at 2:30 am! Best set ever! The longest set played out at Sea, which was streamed live for Markus's Global DJ Broadcast
After Markus Schulz's 4 hour set, he did a meet & greet with fans.
Day 2 - September 28 - Catalina- Private Groove Cruise Beach Party Presented by Dirty Dutch, featuring Chuckie at Descano Beach
Back on the Inspiration, it was time for more DJ action. In addition to the main headliners, Groove Cruise had an astonishing 50 DJ's onboard performing on 9 stages.
Day 3 - Ensenada - DJ Morgan Page! Morgan Page performed on land at the new, awesome venue Papas & Beers. Theme: Mexican Fiesta
Day 3 - Part 2 - Ensenda back to LA - No rest for the weary, we learn who the surprise guest is when we return to the ship. None other than DJ Markus Schulz who is back for yet another amazing set at sea!
Groove Cruise would not be possible had it not been for the amazing team at Whet Travel, led by its founder Jason Beukema & Dana Cohen of Dana Cohen PR, working non stop behind the scenes to make sure everything went smoothly & who were responsible for getting such amazing DJ's as part of Groove Cruise's line-up.
Groove Cruise is not just about having fun. Groove Cruise gives back. A portion of this year's proceeds, through the Whet Foundation, went to deserving children in Ensenada.
Groove Cruise actually began in 2004 with only a group of 125 friends. It's now so huge there is a waiting list. There are 3 Groove Cruises a year. They say unless you actually go on Groove Cruise, you'll never know. We've given you a sneak peak, but to experience the next next Groove Cruise yourself, sign up at Groove Cruise's website.
