At 18 years old, Lexi Ulmer is a fresh high school graduate with a crisp debut album of entirely self-written songs under her belt as well as a promising contract with up-and-coming KALM Music Group. Writing about experiences she personally went through, Lexi is often identified with Taylor Swift for her similar autobiographical writing style and sound.
Her first songwriting feature was in 2009 when she appeared as the lead role in an independent film called "Blake's Ballad." She wrote and recorded two songs for the short film, which was accepted into the prestigious Lake Arrowhead Film Festival. She took years of acting lessons under the watch of professional actor Chuck Marra and LA casting director Megan Foley. Lexi even had acting representation with a manager in Los Angeles before shifting her attention solely to music.
In September 2012, Lexi signed with KALM Music Group after the company CEO and manager, Kerry Kessel, stumbled across one of her YouTube videos. Kessel contacted the singer/songwriter's family via Lexi's website () with his intentions of singing her. That same month, Lexi and her parents flew to Cleveland, Ohio where the manager has a second home where they began laying the plans for Lexi's debut album "Lexi Ulmer."
The CD was recorded in a studio based in the Los Angeles area under the watchful eye of veteran recording engineer and producer Frank Rosato. World renowned musicians such as Greg Bissonette (Ringo Starr, Colbie Caillat), Tim Pierce (The Band Perry, Celine Dion, Colbie Caillat, Miley Cyrus, etc.), Gabriel Moses, Tully Winfield and Don Schiff (Pat Benetar). The album is now available for purchase on iTunes!
