Thousand Oaks, CA – Ventura County CA dentists Dr. Dar Radfar and Dr. Georgia Haddad of 805-DENTISTRY are offering a significant discount on dental services in their Thousand Oaks and Oxnard dental offices in order to assist people who need dental care in tandem with helping their community food pantry.
Dr. Radfar and Dr. Haddad are looking to assist the people in their community who have lost their dental coverage due to job loss by offering dental services at a fraction of their normal rate. For $39 patients will receive oral examinations, x-rays and dental cleanings, with all proceeds going to the local food pantry.
Both doctors were inspired to sponsor the food drive in their Thousand Oaks and Oxnard offices to give back and help the less fortunate in their community after reading a report in the New York Times about how an increasing number of Americans are going hungry.
Dr. Radfar notes that due to the high unemployment rate in California, many people in their community who lost their job have also lost their dental coverage and are, therefore, going without preventative dental care, which puts them in danger of tooth decay and gum disease that may cause diabetes, liver and heart problems.
“We want to do our part to ensure that our fellow Americans stay healthy and to help those who are going hungry by sponsoring this food drive for the residents of our community,” explains Dr. Radfar. He elaborates further by saying $39 will improve a person’s dental health and feed 2 families for a week at the same time.
Dr. Haddad adds, “We are also accepting non-perishable food donations which can be dropped off at either of our 2 office locations.”
The community discount spearheaded by Drs. Radfar and Haddad to benefit people in need of health care as well as the local food bank will remain in effect until September 28th, 2012.

“In a troubled economy that affects many Americans, the spirit of giving to others is needed more than ever. The more people who know about this effort, the more needy families can receive aid,” Dr. Haddad concludes.
