In this day and age of hyper athletic competition, just going to the weight room, working out at the gym or running at the track is not going to give you an edge over your opponents. If you want to want to go to the next level, VERT (Velocity Enhanced Resistance Training) is the way to push your body to its potential, while also allowing you to complete your workout in a shorter period of time than a normal workout.
Through the years, weight training has been the key to performance in the minds of athletes and trainers. VERT has changed that way of thinking. VERT allows the athlete to improve his or her fast-twitch muscle fibers, which are key to quick, explosive movements and equal success in most sports.

VERT separates itself from free weights and normal machines because when working out, you are not going to be influenced by inertia and gravity. Upon lifting a specific weight, your movement is slow, then it picks up, then gravity lowers the weight back down to the starting position. This action creates a very uneven movement, which can lead to muscle wear and tear. Using VERT, your movements are monitored by a computer at 16,000 times per second throughout the entire range of motion. VERT picks up on the changes in resistance during your workout routine and eliminates any slowdown that would otherwise occur during typical weight training. Eventually this leads to more powerful acceleration and explosiveness in your sport.

VERT not only helps Olympic and professional athletes gain a competitive edge in explosive movement, it also helps them rehabilitate their muscles due to the lack of stress placed on the joints during workouts. Elite athletes, though, are not the only ones to use VERT to their advantage. Teenagers are taking advantage of VERT as well to gain a leg up on their competition.
Summer has always been a time for kids to attend sports camps to get ready for their particular sport season in the upcoming school year. VERT offers a different type of sports summer camp – a youth fitness program for kids ages 12 to 18 that helps them develop and enhance their overall athletic ability. Individual and group exercises are designed to increase muscle strength, quickness, explosiveness and endurance, while lessening muscle recovery time. The youth program lasts for either two or three months and you can go three to five times a week.

In addition to working with young athletes on an individual and group basis during the summer months, VERT's athletic trainers also can work with an entire sports team throughout the school year. All things being equal, VERT's youth fitness program can take someone from all-conference to all-state; from high school athlete to college scholarship recipient.
Don't think that VERT is limited to someone looking to become an elite athlete, because it clearly isn't. VERT has benefits for all types of individuals: for those who need to rehabilitate their muscles, the weekend warrior wanting an intense but time-efficient workout, and even for someone just looking to lose weight.

When it comes to the recreational athlete, time is often at a premium. The person who is just trying to stay in shape likely has a family and a job and does not have the time needed to hit the gym as much as they should.
Another advantage of VERT is that you don't need to spend hours at a time working out. By using the VERT system, your muscles are trained symmetrically, in opposing muscle group exercises, so each average workout is only 40 to 60 minutes. Athletes often speak of putting in long hours everyday at the gym training. With VERT, the amount of time you spend in the gym is going to be less, but the intensity and benefits of the workout will be higher.
