I went to this seminar at The Beverly Hills Wilshire not knowing much about the art of
Tai Chi. All I knew was that you move the body by using gentle, flowing movements coordinated with special breathing techniques. I’ve seen people do these movements at
Golden Gate Park, in San Francisco, and there was something very serene about the way they glided their body.

Tai Chi is known to help a person find the energy within; to reduce stress; to increase energy, stamina and agility; to improve balance and flexibility; to promote serenity, to help connect with the mind and body, and to help promote good health and wellness, I was anxious to get started.

Kung Fu Master, Sifu Toy is
2008 Master of the Year by the
World Martial Arts Black Belt Hall of Fame. He is the world renowned
Kung Fu Master and has relocated from
Quebec, Canada to
Beverly Hills and will be kicking off his new U.S. endeavors with this rejuvenating seminar.

After our refreshments, we met
Sifu Toy who is from a select few that's lineage sets the path of a master. But before meeting him, it is customary to show him respect with the left hand fisted covered with the right hand. The result looks like a pyramid and this must always be done. I felt a little intimidated at first, but the Master’s personality is fun and humorous and made the class such a delight to be a part of.

Before working on our
Chi, we began an easy
Chi warm-up followed by bringing the
Chi out (
Tai Chi stepped up with
Kung Fu principals). The movements seemed almost too hard to accomplish. However, the
Kung Fu Master Sifu Toy taught them slowly and repeated them over and over. After awhile, my body adjusted to a rhythm and adapted.

Some of us needed help more than others, and he would come out and work with us one-on-one. I didn’t think that I would adapt, but surprisingly, I was able to learn the movements and I was so proud of myself. It was a very satisfying workout without feeling exhausted. After working on these movements for awhile, we created a hearty appetite and were treated to a fabulous lunch.

When we returned,
Master Sifu Toy shared powerful ancient Chinese secrets that have helped create the most powerful individuals, while providing a clear path to rejuvenation, peace and balance for a happier life. We ended with stretching and nurturing the
Chi exercises.
